Hi. I love those two little hands. They remind me of my daughter Sofia. She is just turn 9 months. Wow, how the days go by.

I love this whole series, with "feet up" taking the special place for me.
This one is a lovely composition, ofcourse offering again that simple and well defined view of babies discoveries of the self.
That great lighting with the glow almost gives us a sense of what baby sees; everything cast in this brand new ethereal glow, eminating perhaps from the babies ever growing astonishment and wonder at their new journey into this beautiful world.

The background was not actually black, it is burned to black by overexposure, like we would do in a darkroom with a regular negative.
The lighting was natural sun coming in form a side window with the afternoon inclination making it a sidelight.
She was actually very inquisitive of her own hands and feet and I was merely there capturing her exploration.
A common view of a baby's behaviour captured to have.
This series I have sold as a series of five and of three images a few times.
It makes me feel warm and fuzzy!

I love this. I've had a look at all of them. I liked the composition of 'My big toe' but it wasn't as crisp overall as this one. I love shots of fingers and toes and you've got a really good one here.

My lillte niece is fluffy and chubby and her hands and toes just look delicious I thought. She just moves too much!
I thinkyou are right, this one is just a tad sharper than the toe. There the focu was a bit lower rendering the main interest (toe finer) a bit off...

I found them through the search system. I searched popular 'children & infants' and went through dozens of pages. I've been here for a little while but haven't looked too much at others work. I've remedied that over the last few days. I want to improve what I do and also work out my 'style'. I've searched a number of different categories and faved plenty of shots that have impressed me. It's helped me to figure out what I really like and where I'm going to go from here.

The lighting was tricky cause I had to be very attentive not to bother the baby and I had to use natural window lights and reflections and not spots and stuff cause she d get crancky
