I was going to call this "Dancing with the Stars" but decided it was just too cute

I getta hoot out of it because the pose blatantly imitates one of those victorian postcards where the woman would be imitating a fairy....
In backwards turn...this work gives the illusion that THIS IS how fairies flit...and obviously ...the victorian women who made those poses for the camera had seen real fairies to mimick.

I know what you mean about the Victorian photo's ... they loved to pose with fairy wings and such ... especially the more risqué photos. I think it was because it added an "innocence" to the image or maybe they thought that if by portraying something that was either not "human" or "primitive" then it wasn't "bad" to be posing in the nude/semi-nude.
Although I love some of the art from that time I am certainly glad that I don't live in that era!
