Description Therizinosaurus… Very speculative, but that’s the best kind of dino art (right? Right?).
This was a challenge to put together because these guys just look so different from everything else out there, I wanted it to look like an animal that could actually exist. I don’t know if I succeeded, but it was good practise nonetheless. I haven’t really drawn these guys much at all before.

Original is in A3 format and I had to put together photos rather than scan it, sorry about the poor quality.

Feels like the proportions might be a bit off? Hard to say with all those feathers. Yeah, I made mine 100 % fluff. Quite possible they weren't all fluffy but in my head they were... The closest animal I can think of lifestyle would be the giant ground sloth and they were apparently super furry too so hey why not...

Sweet, it looks like an Egyptian vulture if it were a dinosaur! Awesome depiction, that's one of the prettiest of vultures! Cool explanation for why you made it so fluffy as well.

I do not find that style all that speculative, you did not go all yesterdays levels of fluff. The art is very good, even if the colour scheme is a bit bland.

This was made before AY was released, as I recall back then this level of fuzz was more frowned upon (at least in the circles I moved). It seems to be a lot more commonly depicted with more feathers now

I know it was, saying that it is "all yesterdays...y" is more or less a term by now, meaning "speculative and not backed up by the fossil record, but plausible".

I have recognized a great increase in heavily feathered therizinosaurs, to the point where it is almost becoming a trope, which AY probably started, so way to be ahead of the crowd, I guess.

Actually there is no evidence that Giant Ground Sloths had extensive and thick fur. I don't even know why they gave him this thick pelt in the reconstructions - perhaps because of the Mammoth (of similar size and weight). But Giant Ground Sloths which lived near the aequatorial region may have been as furry as modern elephants are.

Hehe, thanks. I'm not sure if all fluffy would be realistic for these since they might get overheated, so I've no problem with more conservative ones. But I admit I'd be super excited if they were found out to really be this fluffy lol
