Every single falcon, eagle, kite, buteo, accipiter, tubenose, shoebill, owl, and roadrunner objects to dinosaurs being compared to chickens.

Just send in a giant petrel...birds that dismember other seabirds while alive and eat them from the inside out.

Actually, closer to a flying pygmy Allosaurus.

It has more to do with the way they use their jaws.

No, they don't use their heads like an axe, but what they do after they make contact is similar. Use serrated tongue/serrated tooth to saw through prey, killing it or eating it alive.

Yikes...
And I thought their penguin slaughter was messy due to having no weaponry...

It's messy because of the way they use their weaponry.
That same cutlery exists in phorusracids, terathornids, New and Old World vultures, and even the Haast's eagle. Two serrated ridges on the palate (visible in terror bird fossils or eagle and teratorn skeletons), aligning with the serrated tongue.
What that petrel was doing in that viral video was that it was basically cutting out the rectum and intestines of the penguin or scalping its head using that system, causing fatal injuries.

The best way to describe it would be "great white shark x hyena", or "industrial rib slicer x intestine screw".

Come on, vulture. I think we both know people compare dinosaurs to chickens instead of vultures like you because they're so pitifully flightless. Clearly you outclass them both with your astounding aerodynamics.
Man, those vultures are crazy looking. Great picture of this bird!

I've noticed that the favorite bird (or extant dinosaur) of almost every single paleoartist on dA is the lammergier. Interesting.

I think the issue is that some artist keep giving massive theropods turkey waddles, overly warty skin; and rooster combs. Its their artistic choice yes, but I think that helps in starting some of this nonesense about the 'Feathers = Chicken' argument. I'm somewhat of a reservist on scales vs. feathers, and even though eagle-escue depictions of raptors look amazing; even I think a Rex sporting turkey wrinkled skin and a waddle just looks wrong. I can't really show that to a friend I try to get interested in dinosaurs, it would look too silly (granted, no offense to the artist)

I can understand that. On a related note I feel the same way when people add a ridiculous amount of spikes and the likes, massive claws and depict their dinosaurs as constantly ripping each other apart - you know - where dinosaurs stop being real animals and are turned into movie monsters and fantasy animals instead. These days, I tend to prefer depictions of dinosaurs that look like real animals and act like real animals - it's sad this doesn't appeal to the public - I guess they are used to the way dinosaurs have usually been shown - it seems no documentary can show dinosaurs without blood and violence and gore!

I know what you mean. Feathered dinosaurs can be just as vicious as fake scaly ones anway (actually they would probably be more terrifying, since feathers = endotermic = can run faster and farther without tiring and reguires much, much more food to survive).

this is a very dinosaur-like bird.
(goodness, that's like saying this is a very mammal-like marsupial xD)
also, emus, ostriches and other ratites are a lot like (extinct) dinosaurs as well.

Yep yep. It's a very poor argument saying birds aren't awesome looking - just shows they know nothing about birds to begin with!
