Very funny. But it ruins me a bit that I am so stupid that I had to read all of comments And I am quite dissgusted with criticism which Finrod got here. Poor him! I don't want to insult anyone, but it seems to me that people don't understand this character because he especially is strongly involved by medieval literature and epic poetry - it means he's hard to understand without knowledges which Tolkien had. Instead of FΓ«anor or Maedhros, which are modern characters (or romantic ones), so they are much easier to understand for us.

Ah Lockhart is a lot vain than Finrod. You know what, I don't like these two, so (throws tomatoes at both of them before running away from many angry fans)

Thanks! I'm kind of low on ideas for TmP these days, although I have one crossover in the making. I hope to return to drawing these... there's never enough practice!

Exactly...I'll admit that I have little interest in writing or thinking about Finrod most of the time. There's very little to explore, as far as his inner mind and all that.
You're welcome!

Ideed who doesn't love Finrod? (glances aroud nervously) I must admit he's probably the best person in the whole extended family, yet I don't like him, sorry; I'm an awful FΓ«anorian lover. Gilderoy has found his nemesis: blonder, fairer, nobler and stronger; poor Gilderoy..
As usual beautiful art and funny as hell. You dear Sir or Madam are a genius!

Yes he isn't that one dimensional and there a are a few spots that mar his otherwise perfect personality. Still I remember the slaying of trespassers was a result of the growing power of Celegorm and Curufin after they asked for refuge and helped keeping the realms borders safe, maybe I am wrong. Whatever you are right (in my humble opinion) Feanoreans are much more interesting (and cuckoo) characters. About Andreth I remember the bottom line being:"brother's an elf, we love to lose chances for fear of making a mess, besides you would be separated nonetheless by your nature so back up girl." Naturally phrased much better... XD

I think part of the underlying message to Andreth was that her and Aegnor were not meant to be because she wasn't important enough for the union to serve a big purpose in the fate of Arda. In other words, ordinary mortals apparently don't have a right to marry an elf even if both parties are in love. That's one point I don't agree with Tolkien on.

XD Very probable, I don't remember the Athrabeth very well but it seemed so to me too. I don't agree either, but, I understand my vision of the world and Tolkien's are very different; still there's a loophole in the whole Silmarillion HOME et cetera: they are nothing more than records written by Gondolin survivors, so they may be profoundly biased. That's one thing he mentioned in a letter, wanting to trow the glove and see when and if other picked it up what they would do with Middle Earth.
Still Finrod's character, in my personal opinion, was damaged by the author need to have a spotless knight in shining armor, just look at Fingon (far from spotless) yet a valiant hero and a good guy at heart.

His thickest book would be Eternity with Elves which contains most of his family history. And every single anecdote about his siblings that happened during his lifetime.

that is why the ancedotes about his siblings are included. And also why Galadriel must never read the book.

Okay this is great... even through I cant stand Finrod and Lockhart... Lockhard for beering false and arogant... and Finrod for beering "perfekt" and sometimes cruel to Orodreth his own brother... and inviting others to hunt, just to decide, that he would like to walk in the woods allone...
but in this... of couse Finrod puts Lockhart in the shadorws... (but still... who sings against Saruon and is seriously thinking, that he could win?)

It is nothing wrong wih the honorable death... but... he should have known better, than making vows ore taking oaths... and the way he tried... was strange (to me)
and well Orodreth, the only one who spoke up and reasond that it would be better to stay in Araman had at first to keep Minas Tirith, the old watchtower, after Finrod hab a better place... (Orodroth failed there... ) and after Finrod went on with Beren... again Orodreth was left to keep all tidy. And I think of Orodreth of the one grandson of Finwe who is not made to endure war and all... I think he would have been better of, if he stayed behind with his father. Twice he had to keep a place for Finrod and twice he failed, the second time he died while trying to defend the land of his brother.
At first he irittated my (as I rarly like the perfect ones)... by now I can't stand him... not even a little bit... and it got even worde, when I read this... debate he had with.. the human lady (I forgott her name) in part 10 of the history of middle earth...
It is maybe strange... but well... this is me... (I like Isildur and the moste dislike him)
