Naruto and Ichigo can both be the ass-kickers that Goku and Yusuke are. They just need to both GET A FRICKIN' CLUE and train their minds and their bodies WAY harder than what they've done so far.

"keeps"? He's only lost them three times. First at the hands of Byakuya, -(although then they were more Rukia's powers than his own) then after he used the Final Getsuga Tensho, and finally when Kujo took away his Fullbring. (A power the bastard gave to Ichigo in the first place.)
...*sigh*...Speaking of Kujo, I was HOPING that the Lost Substitute Shinigami arc would remain a manga-only arc...so much for that... I hope that Tsukishima bastard is really dead...he keeps messing with everybody's memories...he deserves to die!
