Description This is a piece I wanted to paint for Frank. He was only ever kind, and restored a love that was long lost in my family. He treated me like gold, and he became the father figure Mom never had, and provided the healing so essential to her. He blessed me beyond words. He is also one of the most talented aviation mechanics I have ever had the priveledge of meeting, a sheer cornecopia of genious and ingenuity. Whether this piece ever reaches you or not, it was meant for you Frank. We'll miss you so much.

Frank saw this picture, and it brought such a smile to his face. He absolutely loved it, and it really blessed him. Frank passed away peacefully with his sons at his side on the 19th of January, 2009. We miss you so dearly.

(you're very welcome ) Actually this one didn't take me long at all. Maybe it was the sense of urgency since I knew he was dying and he didn't have long. This one took me just under 3 hours actually. Never in my life have I done a picture anywhere near this calibur so quickly.

I'm serious, and thank you. I've never, ever done a picture of this quality so fast before. I really think it's just because it came straight from the heart and there was almost a sense of urgency. I knew he was passing very soon.

Thank you so much for the kind words. The really amazing thing is that this picture took no time at all. I don't know if it was the sense of urgency or that it came purely from the heart, but it took just under 3 hours to complete. It means the world to me that Frank loved it so much.

Everything is so very much detailed
The wings, the pattern of the feathers and such, you did great
The sky looks even more beautiful, it fits well with the Owl
I must say it is a very touching piece

Actually, he did get to see this picture, and he loved it. He's hanging on, but the loss is imminent, and I really just check up on him and news regarding him everyday until I get that phonecall.

wow so beautiful!! the bakground is absolutely gorgeous. You know, what you wrote, kind of reminds me of this man named Leon. He was a great friend of my grandfather, and after my grandfather died, he kind of stepped in and was there as a grandfather figure. Sadly he passed away a year ago or so, but he was such a kind man

Aww how sweet. I'm sure he'd love it. I'm so sorry about your loss. I'm sure Frank knows how much you care though. With a bond as strong as you say, I don't see how he couldn't.

The artwork is beautiful. I do love the mid flight pose and the sunset colors. The colors of the background really compliment the subject. That was an excellent choice.
