Description
Basil Karlo, once a famous actor and make-up artist known for playing a notorious serial killer known as "Clayface" until he got fired from a movie and began to murder everyone on set as revenge. He was stopped by Batman and sent to prison, but he escaped. There was a manhunt, but he was eventually captured in New York. Commissioner Gordon sent some officers down to pick him up and bring him back to Gotham. these included Officer Renee Montoya, officer Peter Hall(original character), and one officer who just goes by the name of "Knight." It was possible that Karlo had connections either in Gotham or New York who might have wanted to help him, which is why both police forces had to come up with a plan and coordinate perfectly. they were to meet with NYPD Detective Terri Lee, who would pass the prisoner off.
Detective Lee had a bad feeling about all of this. True, everything seemed okay on paper, but experience has taught her that even the most perfectly thought out plans can go wrong real fast. That's why she asked a friend of hers to be there, but out of sight. This friend seems to have a sixth sense for danger and while many cops think he's a menace(they read the Daily Bugle), she knows full well that she can trust him. It's a good thing too, because once the truck from Gotham arrived, there was an explosion, armed men swarmed the scene, and Karlo was able to make his escape.
Spider-man swung into action, attempting to disarm the men, but Terri yelled at him to stop Karlo. Officer Knight came out of the truck, dropping his uniform and revealing himself to be Batman. in the ensuing chaos, Hall and Montoya managed to grab Karlo and get him into the Gotham PD truck, which then drove off.
"looks like your friends are leaving without you." Spider-man quipped.
"They're supposed to." Batman replied. The armed men were taken care of and webbed up.
"Where'd Detective Lee go?" Spider-man asked one of the cops.
"She's with those Gotham cops in their truck." another officer said. "She and that guy grabbed Karlo and got into the back."
"Oh no." Batman said. he then turned to Spider-man. "Come on!"
"What's the hurry?" Spider-man asked, though he was still following the dark knight.
"Hall is working for Karlo." Batman explained. "He was paid to help him escape. We couldn't prove it until he made his move. your friend could be in danger right now."
"So both those cops were with this guy?"
"Just Hall. we have to hurry. There's no telling what Karlo could be doing to them even now."

It hadn't taken Terri long to find that out. once they were locked in the back and driving away, Hall had turned his gun on Terri, told her to release Basil, and then take off her clothes. He radioed for Renee to pull into a nearby warehouse because Karlo was complaining about being sick. Renee had a hard time believing that, but couldn't afford to take the chance. She just hoped Batman was following them, like he was supposed to. She pulled into the warehouse, got her gun ready, and opened the truck. Hall had his gun pointed at Terri's head, so Renee had no choice but to drop hers. She also had to take her clothes off, and the two women were tied, gagged, and placed into the back of the truck.
"What are we going to do with them?" Hall asked, getting into the driver's seat.
"Nothing right now." Karlo replied. He was wearing Renee's jacket and hat as a disguise. "They might prove useful later, but I've got some business to take care of. A score to settle, and a certain special effects man I need to see first."
