This image probably took me 40+ hours of straight sitting in front of it to finish this. It's been the most slowly-progressing thing I've ever drawn (or at least the slowing thing I can REMEMBER drawing) and I am exceedingly sick of looking at it. I started this about 2 months ago, at the end of August and then school started and disrupted everything. I also tossed this aside to draw my Blood Elf for the Blizzard contest. But for the last two weeks I have spent my weekends mainly forsaking friends and worrying about this drawing, trying to finish it lol. In general, I enjoy how it ended up, which is very different than how I first set out.

Originally, this was going to be a drawing of Mathisen clad in monk-garb and furs amidst a blizzard in the middle of a forest. This was to go along with the story I write called Kreuzfahrer. But then I decided to draw all three of the characters I've come up with so far by adding Michael and Gabriel. I wanted to do something very dynamic but poor planning refused that and so this is fairly static. Michael turned out vastly different than how I wanted.

In all, the desire to simply be done with this pushed me to compromise and about 10 seperate things I wanted to do/add got tossed aside. So you get what you see and I think it turned out alright.

The best part of it all is that with the finishing of this new picture, I get to write more story. I like to include an illustration with each bit I pen. The next thing I draw will probably be a bit simpler to complete. But hopefully I've learned enough from the undertaking of this to more quickly execute something else.
