I like the composition and lighting here. It's a good clean landscape. I just wonder if you could have made more of the golden hour light colour with the WB? It appears to be corrected to almost neutral.

thats how the scene appeared mate. There was very little light - just grey and blue tones.

The left side of the image seems far too dark, it throws the shot out of balance a bit. Id like to see this side and the top right corner brightened to give the shot a bit more balance. This is a really great shot especially considering the time of day this was taken. These shots so rarely come off for me.

Great use of the ultra-wide in this shot, good composition, color, etc. Basically a textbook landscape, nothing wrong here. Although I do have one question: where would you say the "sweet spot" for the 10-20mm is aperture-wise. Wouldn't diffraction start to kick in around f/16?

f16 is the furthest I will go with any lens these days due to softness past that. The 10-20mm isn't the sharpest lens I've ever used, not by long shot. Its never pin sharp altough i've never used it at very many appertures because I always want max d.o.f.
i'll have a look at f9 and 11 next time i'm out.

No the 10-20 isn't that sharp, especially compared to my $80 50mm. But it's probably the best affordable ultra-wide.
