Description Another lame digital painting by yours truly. I was doodling around before work, and actually came up with something I liked. Something about the composition is pleasing, so I played a bit with it some more. I've found a nice way of doing the aurora borealis, too, so I ought to do it seriously in a later pic.

Just a speedpainting in Painter for fun.

Edit: Refined the aurora and background a bit more. I really like this pic, so I figured it merited a bit more time. Gave it a spiffy border, too.

The northern lights are actually thought to have been a dragons firey breath in chinese and european myths. I am doing a school project( death-bringing exam of impending doom) on the northern lights. Hope you dont mind if i use this picture in my presentation.

There's also a descisive moment feel here, like the dragon is watching someone or something approach. Pretty good for a practice sis.

Lame? i'm sorry but i cant agree this is awesome... i like the concept really ... dragons and auroras are a different combinaation.. that i believe works well... ^^ very good stuff here... and the texture of the dragon is done well.. and the colors of the aurora.. is so well done... it looks like a beautiful thin multicolored fabric... nice stuff seriously
