This was one of the last insect photos of this year. The dragonfly (Sympetrum striolatum or Sympetrum vulgatum) was close to death, because when it's getting cold outside dragonflies are no longer able to fly and hunt.In germany there are only two dragonfly species which survive the winter (Sympecma paedisca and Sympecma fusca).
