Description Here stands a lone sentinel in the land of Prayerie. Once Prayerie Dogs roamed fur-clad, but after discovering the wonders of the earth, the precious metals and stones, they forged armor for themselves out of the finest materials, and fortified their homes. Some fringe historians say that Prayerie should rather be spelled 'prairie' for the Old Tongue's word for grassland, however, more noted and respected scholars have concluded that the name of their land was instead derived by from the Old Tongue word 'prayer' since their land is a holy land indeed, as are its citizens. They are often seen as gods of their home, due to their abilities to live under the earth so well, and their dominion over it. In respect, they took on the name 'dog' an inversion of the Old word for the almighty, for they felt unworthy of being considered gods themselves. Their advancements allowed them to drive away the demons of the land... the monstrous Swiftfoots and the dreaded Winged Ones. But when all of the dangers are gone, and nothing more threatens the citizens of Prayerie... what has a poor old sentinel left in life?

"...due to their abilities to live under the earth so well..." Auugh! I envy them now since we've been having tornado-ish weather in my part. Neato! 'Looks like you have a little background storyline started with this piece of yours.

Aww, what a sweet story. I don't think I've seen an anthro prairy dog before. =] I'm amazed at how your pencil work makes the picture itself look 3D!

Oh, he looks so cute with his pickaxe! I love the explanation, especially with intricate explanation for the names. I love his armor too, it's a great design, and how you can tell he's all bored.

Most adorable picture you have drawn there, and a matching story to go with it.
That background is fabulous! And that prayerie (fuck that word was sooo difficult to spell) is just so - UHHHHH! Ca-Ute!
Whats a swiftfoot. That word sounds so fimilar I just cant pick up on it...

Dear goodness Nash, someone has infected you with cute. YAY to prairie dogs being warriors. You know, they do have a great set-up, but I bet they would love it if they could have some of those wooden doors and kickass weapons and armor

Heh. Best description I've read all year.
And what a stunning piece! The detail you put into the armour, the fur, the background...
Works together so well!
But what's he gonna do now?
Why he's going to pose for artists to draw him, of course!
