Thx! That's one of the reasons why I enjoy working with organic shapes, where the illusion of movement and flow is so easily obtained.

I might have been at the time. I had several pieces to finish and with short deadline on my exam, I worked for days in a row, driven solely by a coffee-induced frenzy.

Happens to us all. Notice that I've managed to switch from english to norwegian somewhere along the way; "eraser" --> "lĂŚr ĂĽ tegne"

This is beautiful, and creepy. Something tells me the student is you. The student looks allot like your self portrait. Just saying m thoughts

I am also amazed on the transparent sections on this picture, like the faces at the bottom or the stair case, witch i liked depicting a moral over. Oh and the book "Learn to read"

Thank you! Bullseye! Very perceptive! It was part of my work with the exam in teacher's college, when I still was young and full of fury about all the boring theories and still-life exercises we was forced to endure. I felt then I'd learned enough, and was eager to explore my "powers" in my own way.

Now the roles have switched, and as the old and grumpy sorcerer, I can only hope that my apprentices have accumulated enough knowledge to avoid achieving the same havoc as Mickey did with his newly discovered abilities. (You've seen Fantasia?)

So, enjoy your magical abilities, but proceed with caution...

Some wise words and, references. ;D

But don't forget that being the other end does not mean the end to the "Stair Case " :3
I just liked the thought of what i just said. Sounds wise... so i don't seem un-wise

Thanks, mate! The two "frames" showing the sorcerer? (The page is really one more or less coherent comic, portraying student and teacher. The student grows a bit older during the page.)

I don't know how you call them, but they look awesome. The one on the upper left and the upper right

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

N-o-B In reply to IzgorCore [2012-01-16 00:06:33 +0000 UTC]

Ah. The sorcerer. Supposed to be the same character, in two different frames in the "comic". The whole picture's based on the Mickey Mouse part of Disney's "Fantasia".

(I know you don't like anime, but surely you must make an exception for the true cartoon classics? )

IzgorCore In reply to N-o-B [2012-01-16 00:22:59 +0000 UTC]

No I don't really understand where is the beauty in the anime thing..

The true cartoon classics it's another story that I waste my childhood watching them. I still love them YES!

N-o-B In reply to IzgorCore [2012-01-16 00:35:43 +0000 UTC]

Haha! I have some sympathy for the best within the anime genre myself, although it is of course 99 percent crap, undeniably.
My allegiance lies with the good old-fashioned handwork as well, and despite being a tad outdated, "Fantasia" was made to demonstrate the greatest talents of that era. Seen it?

Disney's "Fantasia", with the sorcerers's apprentice part with Mickey Mouse as the apprentice. Not something you watch many times, perhaps, but is definately worth checking out. Good old-fashioned cartoon handwork synced with classical music.
