Thanks! I added some finishing touches to the painting with airbrush, for to make some highlights and to soften the transition between the brushstrokes. I think that's what causing your association to oil-painting. (That, and the poor rendering. )

However, it's all in the eyes of the beholder, I think, and the creative talents they posess. Your pictures could easily inspire some good tales as well.

Yeah, I read it, and though I normally shun contests, I'm REALLY tempted to give this one a try, due to its theme. I just finished the last workload of the first semester, and am beginning to get a slight overview on the next. If I manage to get some spare time inbetween the battles, I'll make an effort to participate. Thank you for the tip!
