She's so very pretty, I love her eyes, and lips, and hair, and the soft colours. May I ask what media you used ?

I like the decorations in her hair and the detail on her dress. This is very well done.

Thank you very much! I was only inspired by the beauty of the goddess herself.

Thank you! This is the one I'm most satisfied with, technically. And the hair took a long time, so I'm glad you like it.

you're very welcome. there's nothing quite like someone else smiling on what you have slaved over, is there?

I had an artshow last week, and that was about it. Big self-esteem boost! See, I know what's wrong about everything I do, so it's kind of cool to see people not notice and/or not care, and just enjoy your stuff. It made me happy that they were happy. It was really something...!

oh, an exhibit! how splendiferous. it sounds like it went well; what pieces did you display? the set of Freya-Hodr-Baldr-and-Loki?
it's always a self-esteem boost when people don't notice your mistakes, or else actually like them.
still you left that last sentence unfinished. do you care to elaborate?

Yeah, all the kids in AP art put up booths in the gym for three days as our final exam. It was fun, except for the putting-together and taking-apart sections.

I put up about 16 pieces I'd done over the year, mostly all my Norse stuff. A lot of it's here already. Everything I've put up here in June was in the show, and a lot of older things as well. I also painted all over my walls, which was fun.

Nope, no more to say. It was just good times.

oh, they did that at my school! mostly it was just little droll school-assignment things that were watery and uninspired, but there were one or two really good pieces.

Our school has a pretty large art department, so there were a lot of really talented kids this year--my friends Matt (Geiger/Dali-style freaky stuff) and Kelley (beautiful, feminine, perfect linework), and some good photography, too. One girl took wonderful portraits of doggies

it makes me happy to see good teen-art. of course there's a glaring scarcity of it, so i don't get the art-happiness very often.
ohh...your friends' work sound interesting. do they have DA pages?

I have no idea. I don't think so; they're both very secretive.

Yeah, people steal like motherfuckers on the internet. That's why I don't put much original stuff up here at all. You can't exactly "steal" a god or goddess, though.

Carat In reply to munashiibennu [2006-06-22 01:09:15 +0000 UTC]

yep, that they do. it always gets me when i see some thief trying to pass off ripped work in the known style of another artist as their own.
i also think it sad that people can't share their art with others without fearing it'll be stolen.

munashiibennu In reply to Carat [2006-06-22 18:40:22 +0000 UTC]

It is sad. It has to do with the high density of teenagers on the internet... immature, amoral teenagers...

Carat In reply to munashiibennu [2006-06-23 06:31:49 +0000 UTC]

i blame it on people too scared (or too stupid) to develop their own styles. awhile ago there was a ripper who was stealing from one of the asterisk people on this site, a really well-known abstract artist, and coloring the stolen pieces differently and selling them; i don't think he was a teenager, though, just a skeevy adult-person.

Wonderful! I love the coloring and the textures that you produced. And that...thing...under your nose- It's got a name I just don't remember it- you made it look really nice and 3D!

BTW- what college are you planning on going to? You must've graduated by now! @ .@

I love the way you did her hair, and the moon in the background is a nice touch. The colors are really nice, but it reminds me more of autumn than spring... Must be her hair.

munashiibennu In reply to SilverQuill [2006-06-09 00:21:16 +0000 UTC]

Thank you--the hair took a long time to do! And, she's not really meant to be a Spring goddess, it just sort of fits what I feel her personality to be, so if you're getting an Autumn feeling, that's just fine.
