#2 of 22 of my Tarot remakes, this time major arcana #1, The Magician. The Magician represents the will and strength of a person. It can read skill, determination and confidence, or impotence, insecurity and indecision, depending on its position (man, it almost seems as if I believe in all of this XD). This is actually the card that inspired me to make this project. Google "Le Bateleur" (The Magician in French) and you'll see why. The character depicted looks horrible! Sure, the concept of and apothecary used in there is interesting, but the guy in there looks plain lame, so I made some major changes for this one. I made him here a man sitting in a tower scribbling away in parchment. Instead of being just an apothecary (the mortar and pestle, the jar with a snake in it), he is also an astronomer/astrologist (the telescope and the chart in the background) and an alchemist (the goblet with infinity symbols on the desk, the florence flasks below said desk) to give an image of a man with a wider knowledge of subjects, what magicians should be. There's an owl in there for the obvious symbol of knowledge and magic, a starry sky to illustrate the insignificance of humanity. There's a very subtle symbol for willpower in the fact that the man is working late at night by candlelight, for the good of mankind, or himself, whatever you wish to make of it...
Now I retire, my children, but be aware... I am doing this for you as much as for me! So don't be afraid to voice your opinion, my friends! Madrigal out.

Detail love again. You look like you're experimenting with textures (the wood grain, the walls, the stonework) - it looks awesome with that kind of attention paid to it!

He he, I always try to improve on it... I still think I have room for practice, but this looks great, doesn't it?
