Description The story for this is interesting, at least from my point of view. Once about two years ago my Spanish class was analyzing the symbolisms on this short, tragic play we read called "Bodas de sangre" (Blood weddings) by Federico Garcia Lorca. We came at this point when we started talking about the ring the bride was wearing, decorated with a pearl. Here my teacher said something so poetic that I still remember the exact wording of it: "Las perlas nunca deben ser usadas en anillos de matrimonio. Las perlas son lágrimas. Se deben usar diamantes porque asi debe de ser el amor: transparente y duro", which means something along the lines of "Pearls must never be used on wedding rings. Pearls are tears. Diamonds must be used, because that's how love should be: clear and solid". The idea barely has to do with the drawing, but the sole image of pearls being tears has a dreamy, romantic ring. I was reminded of that phrase while watching Alice in Wonderland during the Walrus and the Carpenter part, and I drew this at my hotel room, finishing a little past midnight. This was my last drawing of the year.

Thanks, I hold that phrase dear...
The teacher was not much of a sweetheart, but something makes her...
unforgetable, in a good way.
Thanks as always, Vida!
