If there's one person who hates to show who she really is the most, It's Akane.
Akane grew up stashing her true feelings away, thinking it would be easier to pretend about everything.
She tend to use her joking and silly nature to avoid dealing with certain parts of her own feelings, like situations she doesn't wanna be in or bad moods, and in serious situations as well.
Akane thinks that "being serious is hard for a lot of people because its a state where you're emotionally vulnerable"
She always had a hard time admitting to others that there is a side to her that has serious, loving, and gentler feelings than how she usually come off-- silly and loud and friendly and outgoing. When she does tell them, they brush her off, laugh at her, so she decided to just stop trying to be sincere.

Though there are those very special friends who she could be herself with.

She doesn't really even know which side of her is the real one anymore.

Pretending for so long, her personalities sometimes overlap with each other. Her outside personality becomes her true personality in some situations, and vice versa.

Akane was born into a family of 3 half-siblings, all are 10 years older than her. A big gap, yes, and it didn't help that her 2 brothers weren't exactly the type of brother you'd like. They kept teasing her and making her cry! Akane thought school would be a good escape, but no, she was constantly used by her 'friends'. She hated them, she realized. She had a few close friends, but they come and go, every year her friends changes, nobody sticks around with her for long, and she accepted that.
She didn't stop pretending to be cheerful though, temporary friends aren't so bad.
She didn't know what happened and how it happened, but she found out she's a synesthete. This made it difficult for her to eat because of visions.

Back to her family-- She was always pressured to what career she should take, and sneer at her when she tells them she wants to be.

She was constantly put down by her parents,

"You failed in math? Gosh, you are a SHAME!! You're a girl and you failed math!!"
"Why did you cut your hair short? What, are you a lesbian? Because I will disown you."
"You should learn from your bestfriend!

Every. Single. Time.

"I know I'm better than my cousin in some aspects, but I can't help but feel useless in everything when it's always her they favour over me."

Her parents get mad at her for everything she can't do, which fueled her frustrations,

"They got mad at me for being on the computer for too long and for not talking to anyone else.. Huh, they're the one who locked me up in this house. Ugh."

She was sooooooooo done.
Freaking.
DONE.

Akane, after a big argument with her parents, had the permission to live in an apartment in Kōbashi.

Though she's somewhat free of her parents' constant nagging, she's now struggling with her self; Her eating disorder, her poisonous envy, her pretense friendships.

"Shit."

>Actually only 3 of them are in her apartment right now(Lynx, Toad, Lion). The rest are with her family.
>Her parents still pay for her tuition and rent ofc.
>After Assault, she jumps back because she's sort of a hit-and-run kind of person lmaooo
