Magellan (Sailor Venus!Film Brain for those who might be out of the loop) in the style of the old Sailormoon Channel chibis.Hum. Looking at the design again I've noticed the kind-of jerkiness of it. Orange olive wreath to Breton stripes to weird Windsor-knot neckerchief to bright orange skinny jeans and Sailor V's gloves.
But I guess that adds to how he starts out -- some otherwise mundane guy being thrust into action by a mysterious power for no easily-foreseeable reason, so his outfit becomes as patchy as his instincts would be. And that's kind of evocative of how Sailor V/Moon were -- the jeans and T-shirt would be as familiar to a college-age British guy as a sailor collar and skirt would be to a Japanese girl in junior high.
Basically this is the headcanon at work here: Sailor Soldiers' outfits are based on their feelings, personalities, and upbringings.
That and I can't really put a straight-up sailor collar on him because that would make him way closer to being a Sailor Senshi and it's not particularly kosher to do that with guys.
GAAH WHY DIDN'T I GIVE HIM ANY VISIBLE WEAPONS FROM THE STAAART
I could have drawn him with the Holy Blade like I tend to, but nooooo I have to tiptoe around my plotpoints...

You know, I really want to read that story on day. I don't think you've ever really done anything but mention where the characters fit into the story, but I want to see the whole thing from beginning to end one day! XD Same with your Haruhi Insano thing >:U
Anyway, I really love the style of this pic, the lineart is so interesting! The thick lines on the outside and line width variation look pretty cool 
The blue+orange color scheme works because there is the white to break them apart. There's only maybe the shoes that could use a different design because adjacent orange and blue stripes don't look all that good, especially if they're the same size. Maybe if you had white shoes with blue stripes and small orange accents (or the other way around), it would help the color balance? o3o

Oi, that's a thing with me that I always think the whole thing and never put it right down. (>x<); But I'm actually trying to make an effort to have at least the Magellan story worked out, written and done. (I just get distracted a lot. >o>)
But thank you! The single-color lines were actually a holdover from the original style (the biggest picture of which I could find is here [link] ) but I do see a bit of the offness of it on his scarf especially.
Hmm. I agree with that, I admit I was kind of flying by the seat of my pants while doing his shoes. I was working from an old design that I had already changed a lot from (the wreath was originally clam hairclips, the scarf and glove bands were orange...) but at the point I was doing the shoes I was just concerned with making it bend right to the folds. ^_^; But I'll keep that in mind next time I have to draw/color the shoes!
