I started this on the 2nd of June, but I worked on it on and off.

The map is a possible future alignment of our tectonic plates. There are arguements for why this possibility won't happen, but I like this version, so it's what I'm sticking with.

The newspaper says, "Eutherian Railroad brings more refugees than UPR can manage," Which is a lie. The UPR is just lazy. (And a fictional country, for clarity.) Eutheria is a fictional country too, and a very undesirable place to live if you aren't a mammal. That's why dragons and birds try to leave. They did carve a bird-country out of the existing countries, but it's in the middle of a war-zone.

The UPR claims to have equality between mammals, birds and dragons, but dragons are still treated badly by many mammals. Jens is an advisor on dragon issues to the UPR leader, but finds that his input is usually dismissed. He tries to do what he can for other dragons with the power he does have.
