Addy isn’t the most memorable individual, and that’s just the way he likes it. He tries his best to fade into the background, because it is far less trouble to be forgettable, and he is all about avoiding trouble. He follows the path of least resistance as best he can and will do exactly as he’s told quickly and competently—provided it’s explained to him in clear terms, anyway; figures of speech tend to go over his head.

Predictably, when he’s thrown out of his (rather small) comfort zone, he panics and retreats as quickly as possible. Less predictably, when someone manages to earn his trust, he will do whatever he can for them even if it makes him uncomfortable, and especially if they need to be protected from harm. Despite his passivity and misgivings he can be quite inquisitive, and will pose questions as best as he can manage to anyone willing to answer them—though his delivery may be riddled with stutters and pauses.

History
Addy was born towards the tail end of the war to a colony of ahool who made their home high in the peaks of the Rocky Mountains. They, on the whole, didn’t like humans but didn’t seek them out; it was better to avoid them and live in what peace they could.

After the war’s end there was an uptick in humans in the area—including poachers. Ahool sought strength in numbers, but Addy had never quite managed to make all that great an impression on his peers or even his family; he tended to lag behind the rest of the colony, and so became a much easier target for capture when he was injured after a storm.

He could have been killed and distributed for exotic “medicines” but as luck would have it he passed through a few hands on the black market and wound up in the possession of a rich human who fancied him he newest collection to their private menagerie. Though at first he was caged, his owners' discovery of his docile nature led to him being treated more as a pet. Addy remained there for a few terribly boring years before the whole shebang was busted and the human arrested for poaching and kidnapping, among other charges.

At his release, Addy was faced with a dilemma. He was an ocean away from home, and even if he’d managed to transverse the Atlantic and return, he’d likely be killed on site for what his colony would see as fraternising with humans. Fortunately, a kindly individual who’d participated in his jailbreak offered an alternative—joining DAMMED.

He was skeptical of the organisation, to say nothing of his mistrust of the humans potentially involved, but.. well, he didn’t exactly have many other options, did he? So, he flew to Seryy to apply and try his luck with the program. If all went well, he’d be able to start a new life and—as an afterthought—might be able to help other demons like he’d been helped. And he’d never admit it, but the idea of forging a bond to last a lifetime with another—even a human—was terribly alluring in his loneliness.

His birth name is Kuddkkar, but he considers it private and something to keep separate from the human world. “Addy” is what his owner’s daughter called him and while he's ashamed of the history behind the name, it suits his purposes just fine.
He has larger lungs and a bigger heart that runs at more beats per minute than a human, and his baseline temperature is also higher than a human’s.
His ears are very sensitive and even in human form he can navigate with sound alone through echolocation. He can identify people he's familiar with by heartbeat, footstep and breathing pattern but generally he has to focus to do that.
He’s very protective of his ears—he’d have shorter hair, but he freaks out when anyone with a pair of scissors comes near him. Hence the bun.
He’s spent barely any time in his human form during the course of his life and is still kind of clumsy in it. He’ll get better with time.
He can’t read or write terribly well and isn’t the most.. well-versed in human appliances and customs.
Dislikes close quarters or being indoors for long stretches of time.
