Yul’s sybal resembles an iridescent humanoid moth covered in thick carapace armour with soft, downy fur poking through the armour’s gaps. Roughly 3 feet in height with a wingspan of 6 feet, the sybal compensates for size with lightening quickness and surprising strength; like many insects, the sybal is far stronger than it appears.
The sybal is well armed with pincers, needle-like teeth and four sets of pointy claws but Yul rarely has cause to use them. Four arms is a lot to arrange and while in combat Yul makes the most of them, wielding multiple weapons in a fight, it’s otherwise easy for said appendages to get mixed up or forgotten entirely.

Sybal Power: Light energy parasitism
Use primarily in close combat, Yul can leech the energy of a target and either absorb it or release it as a burst of blinding light. This is not done without consequence; energy drainage requires great concentration and careless use of the ability leaves Yul tired once dawn comes, despite the short-term power boost. The backlash is proportional to the strength and frequency of the attack and unless things are desperate, Yul prefers to ignore the ability altogether. Yul isn't particularly fond of the ability and few in the city, save Basileus and the other ministers, is aware of it.

Docile or Feral: Reformed Docile
The end of Yul's old life--and the transition to the city--was not particularly kind, and at first Yul had a hard time adapting. Yul's fondness of fighting turned to impulsive violence, which combined with the nature of their ability made for some very unpleasantly eventful nights. With time and help, though, Yul became able to maintain control, treating it like a personal challenge or competition until the goal was reached.

Personality: Yul is very much a people person, extroverted and amicable with a disposition that is curious to the point of being meddlesome. Gifted with natural charisma and the ability to lead, Yul is unflappable and direct in addition to possessing a competitive streak that demands the best performance that can be delivered, whether of the self or of others. In fights--and often outside them--this means that no move is too dishonourable, no blow too low to shy away from. Despite being quite the linear thinker, though, Yul takes delight in messing with people and has gotten into trouble more than a few times because of it.

History: Not much is known about Yul's past to most anyone in the city besides Basileus. Yul knows, of course, but considers it irrelevant to the life being led in the city. Why bother of the past, after all, when the present is so glorious and rich? Yul's history in Sybal Heim, however, is well-known to anyone who spends any amount of time in Heilig. After a brief period of stillness upon arriving in the city in 1690, Yul plunged into various projects in the city--talking to people, helping others to establish businesses, and in general becoming a community leader and a well-known and integral figure in Heilig and beyond. Nevertheless, Yul was surprised to be summoned before Basileus after the accidental death of Heilig's previous minister. Yul accepted the offer as a way to better the city on a far wider and deeper scale, and has done so for 54 years.
