Hey Man....!!!! huge fan of your work......Superb!!!!!!

(Just a Suggestion)

I think you could experiment with his head a bit

In scriptures he is mentioned as bald headed bcoz of which his name was Ghatotakatcha.

Ghatotkatcha means one with POT (Ghat) like Head (katcha).

Also he was known to be one of the best wielders of MACE like his father - The Mighty Bheema.

Wow, its Gatotkaca! loving how you excelently potrayed him as a rakshasha. Whereas, in my native (Javanese of Indonesia) mythology, mainly in the art of Wayang (shadow puppet) the character of Gatotkaca is heavily glorified as a good-looking hero! He has an illuminating-flying-armor, and..wait for it.. a cool mustache!!

Great job, man! I love your Mahabharat stuff. Are you working on a comic book retelling? That would be fantastic!

Look at that ferocious face. That is scary enough to make durjyodhan shit his pants !! The kuru battalion must have struck with a severe case of diarrhea and heart-attack just by looking at him !!

actually... that did happen
it's described in the mahabharata that they all peed/pooped in their dotis and some fainted

Primal-Mythos [2013-10-07 17:42:20 +0000 UTC]

Freaky! I heard that he had super strength, steel hard skin and flight...so he's like the ancient version of superman?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

molee In reply to Primal-Mythos [2013-10-08 17:29:20 +0000 UTC]

ancient version of superman would be  hanuman not ghatotkacha..
ghatotkacha would be similar to cpt.marvel/shazam from dc comics

he didn't have steel hard skin though.. he was a master of illusions/magic.

Not exactly what I imagined him to be...   but he is mentioned as a real scary character so i guess its suits . But I feel the bow and arrows cud have looked better.. I remember you had given his dad an awesome bow!

I guess, that's the point. Rakshasa supposed to be kinda barbarian and primitive race, so he has ugly and simple (but massive and deadly) bow...

molee In reply to LemmiwinksGerbilKing [2013-10-08 17:31:34 +0000 UTC]

they weren't really primitive.. but they came to that status around krishna's time.

Well, maybe not Ravana and his reatainers, but in Mahabharata Rakshasa are basically ogres who live in the forest, aren't they?

hm you have got a point but i felt it cud have looked a little better.. I mean c'mon look at that Armour.. and besides in Mahabharat, he is kind of referred as the demon prince!

molee In reply to shankar2302 [2013-10-08 17:34:16 +0000 UTC]

lol yes i didn't work on the bow much..
and i am trying to shift from super-fantasizing the bows(making such magical bows exclusive to certain characters like arjuna, karna etc.).. but still retain the magical elements from the book.

Nice one! Loved the details on the character but I wish you had detailed the background as well. Not that it isn't good. Anyways awesome as always

molee In reply to NishithV [2013-10-08 17:35:10 +0000 UTC]

thanks.. well not tryign to focus much on the background because m trying to make all the characters from the mahabharata in a short span of time..
soo... that's why

Oh! My bad... didn't see the rest of the characters. That makes sense! The main thing I like about your characters on hindu mythology is that you don't over-do the characters. I mean like I've seen some with extreme western style of armors and weapons. It doesn't bring out the real description of character. Anyways I don't mean to bore you! Keep it coming bro!!
