This is absolutely beautiful. I love the strong contrast and the silhouetted effect it gave the monument. Wonderful shot. Makes me want to really, really want to visit Edinburgh sometime soon.

Fantastic! for being the best (most interesting) picture I have yet see of the Scot monument.

Have to admit, I'd be empted to play withit a bit...perhaps edit out the taxi's and street...as it has a "gothic fantasy" feel to it, like all those dark castles protruding from the landscape of far off, troubled lands under the rule of some dire and miserable power. *ah* Edinburgh will never be the same again.

It is rather Nosferatu. I might point this picture out to a friend of mine, he's trying to write a horror story based around fictional happenings at the Scot monument...he might find it inspiring.

you're welcome not touristy, traveler. tourists go around with the big maps & try only to see the big attractions. Travelers take in the culture, try new experiances and take photos not for the sake of "oh that's a really popular place! We should take a pic to prove we've been there!" but "oh wow! that's really beautiful (or cool)"

that photo is not from a tourist but from a traveler
