New color pen drawing of a very talented artist and friend Helena. I had plans to draw her sooner but after seeing amazing drawings from Zindy and Giada I decided to wait awhile. I wanted to do something creative, different and of course with color pen! Coming after RainBoA there was no way I was going to do a normal portrait as I felt that would be a step backwards for me. I did alittle research from 3 books and decided on an asian theme. Originally the top was plain white so I colored it purple. I added a chinese goddess which was originally white. I redesigned the goddess's face and colored her outfit yellow. That pic was taken from a book on chinese myths. It was really tricky trying to draw the goddess on her top. I wanted to add a tattoo on her arm and chose a chinese lotus flower. The background I got from a book on chinese emperors. The crane was from a chinese childrens book. I originally wanted to use a dragon but decided a crane would work better. I chose my own color for the sky and I rearranged the clouds and mixed up the colors for them. The original ref background pic did have a crane but it wasn't suitable so I had to look for another one to use! Photo taken using digi cam which clearly shows to me that the colors do not stand out as much as they do in the original drawing. The nicest moment I remember about this drawing is there was one rare evening when myself and Ken were both working on our drawings at the same time in the same room! Ken was finishing up the background on Hyori while I was in the middle of mine! He finished his drawing first of course!

A4 size paper.
Color ball point pens, felt tip pens and a white color pencil.
I'm not to sure of the time I've spent on this drawing. It's been on and off because there were times when I was depressed and wasn't in the mood to draw. But the hours were definitely long!
