I down loaded the FREE version of DAZ fro Mac, but I think my operating system is not compatible with this most recent version. I will have to seek out an older freebie version.

Nor topless! Even by season three they were trying so hard to keep her a little girl...and she just so was NOT a little girl anymore! She filled out that silver space suit almost as well as Marta Kristin did! There is a third season episode, where JUDY and PENNY, in the space suits, are preparing for liftoff, and they are both bending over to prepare one of the liftoff couches and wow! What a view! Could that shot have been a total accident????
I didn't think anyone under like 40 watched LIS anymore...it's so NOT Doctor Who, and Torchwood, and ANime and all that other stuff that is so hot these days.

I'm not a pervert. I am not interested in glamourous angles. Instead, I expected her to defend herself, so that, like you said, she is not just a little girl.

I like to think so. Such a departure from the 50's type cigar with fins. Practical, compact, clean lines. Of course a year later Star Trek forever changed our perceptions of what a spaceship might look like and the J2 got lost in the shuffle.

That she did, but she's still a pretty lady. I liked the earlier shows better when Smith was someone you did NOT turn your your back on.

MJBivouac In reply to Dynamoe [2009-04-26 00:26:21 +0000 UTC]
I agree, but I guess Smith had to become a comic villain or it would have been difficult or almost impossible to continue the series with a murderous sabotuor as part of the cast. He was bad enough as a silly villain.

Thank you.
Forget the film version of Lost In Space, it sucked. I don't know if Belgium has NETFLIX or some sort of DVDs-by-mail service like we have in the USA. But if you do have such a thing, and Lost In Space the TV series is available, you might consider renting one of the FIRST SEASON episodes, just to get an idea what the show looked like in 1965. Most people who were not around at that time, always think of STAR TREK when 60s sci-fi is mentioned. Lost In Space looked nothing like Star Trek, especially during the first season which was Black and White. It is the best season of the show.
I like the texture of that particular art paper. It's very nice to draw upon.

Man! the Saticons are the coolest aliens since ALF! And almost as convincing! I never made the DEVO connection but you are right! I could see someone putting together a very funny music video using shots from LIS and a DEVO's signature song: "We Are DEVO!" That could be really REALLY funny!

They also remind me of Bruce Timm's Riddler, but that's another story.
I may have someone taking up the Russian gal theme, but hopefully another idea appeals to you. Or how about either the gang in Western wear or a fiery plane crash in the desert in the next fancomic/fanfic?

MJBivouac In reply to mmustangg [2008-12-30 03:19:41 +0000 UTC]
Huh? Are you serious about "Q"? I would never have seen that.
This paper is really made for drawing, so it is mostly pleasant to work upon. Although, color can build up to a point where it is difficult to add any more color. You just learn to work around the problem.

Dude got his money worth on this one. It's more gothic than the Robot pic, even though the Saticon looks like he's about to stick his thumps in his ears and start waving his tougue at West.
The Saticons were my favorite LIS villians. It was the way they slowly wobbled and that monotonus voice that made them creepy.

MJBivouac In reply to Todshi [2008-12-30 02:56:51 +0000 UTC]
Fear not, I got a decent rate. Nothing I'm going to retire upon, but getting paid to do art is a great thing that most people never get to experience.
Now, I personally felt that THIS one was, despite being in color, much more true to the feel of the first season episodes, and less stylized than is my robot drawing.
Kind of funny to think of the Saticon's voice...all whispery, and sticking his thumbs in his ears and doing the Hand Antlers, and saying: "nah-nah-Nah-nah-na-na!" at Major West.
Thanks for the comments.

The only complaint I have about this piece is that Major West seems to be holding his laser pistol as if it were in double-secret electric shaver mode. Otherwise it's a beautiful drawing. I have a nostalgic fondness for Lost in Space - not the best sci-fi show of its day, but it has charm. Something most TV series lack these days.
