Description NOTE: Although I say this is an advanced tutorial, it only requires basic knowledge, so newbies feel free to have a go~
I've only called it advanced because this kind of thing is normally low on the list of priorities when people start learning to pose models.

Behold!

Okay, I wrote this a while ago, but didn't get around to finishing the editing of it until now. Behold my badly put together tutorial @_@ Anyhoos, I made this because I noticed how many people don't really understand how to hold an object (and the over use of the default half hand pose) and what it does to your models holding stuff, seriously guys, not a good look. I think that the most common mistake is to put the object too high in the palm and so that it rests on top of the first knuckle line of the hand. This means that you can't actually bend those knuckle bones at all without serious clipping. These bones are probably the most important in making a believable hand pose, so I implore you to make sure you move your object up and into the centre of the palm!

Hope this helps some people. And that understand what I'm dribbling on about.

If you have any questions, then post a comment, I'll try and help ;-;

This is incredibly useful-- I always have such a hard time posing fingers for some reason. I just cannot get them to look right. ; w ;

Thank you for this awesome tutorial~.

Hands are hard, my top tips are:
deffo use the rotation wheel as little a possible and use the three axis control in the botton right of the screen as much as possible instead.
Study your own hand! Understanding how your hand works really helps!

Anyway, I'm glad you found it useful ;-;
