So I wanted to do more digital painting studies... however I was inspired to create something a bit more with this piece!! As she felt a bit vampire/gothic ... so thought I'd play with that. Really pleased with the nose and lips. I actually painted this whole piece the other way round and then flipped it. 2-3 hours work. The lips for the lighting and colour are wonderful and I really like the way you have shaded around the nose, as well as the skin tone. The piece looks fantastic as skin tones work really well together and the blue of the eyes is very piercing against the pale colours and black.

very nice work....i love how u use different color for skin and the shades....like her nose , lips and cheek blushes....a very good blend of redish blush with blue tone....
just 2 things... eyes need to be more detailed if you are opting for a realistic look....do not highlight the bottom part of eye more than the part above....if u want her to wear a eye make up...make sure its not hard brush or has a hard brush effect...make it little smudgy....like the color is on the skin....
am with MissMignonne about the tear drops....
You improved soo soo much...and am glad to see your works are so beautiful....gosh i love her nose....whyyyyyy!!!!

Thank you! I wanted to try something a little different and change up the skin tone (so it didn't seem like I was just colour picking)... when I stumbled upon this idea. I'm pleased with it though the eyes are 'off' (totally agree with out on that score, especially now the more I look at it!!). lol... But I'm glad you like the colour tones that I used through out this piece

I really like the colours you used here, they create such a cold, chilly atmosphere. And I also love how her red lips create a contrast to her pale skin and the icy blues in the bg.

Love this! Amazing really.A couple spots to look at are the eye brows(I would add a couple hairs to make them more realistic. I would work right under the chin a bit to smooth it out like you did the nose.Those pretty lips look like they are floating just a tad. The last thing is right beside her eye. I can't pin point it, but something looks off with contour of her face(might be the eye?), but this is one of my favorite pieces from you and makes the piece i'm working look like utter crap.Great work.

- My goodness you're so right about the eyebrows I started them and then went to answer the door and when I came back I completly forgot I was doing them and you're right they're not finished (oopse). Ah well.
I didn't realise the under the chin was off. But thank you for pointing that out.
Thank you for your other points though. I don't seem to be able to make lips stick to the face, they always seem to float or their really blury... and look like she has a smudge where her mouth should be. This is the case in A LOT of my paintings not just this one. So perhaps I should try working on some lip studies (mouth, face around mouth). Thank you for your suggestion here.
And yes I'm unsure what's up with those eyes but I didn't want to spend more time on repainting eyes. I recently did a piece where I spent something stupid like 2-3 hours just painting and repainting and painting and repainting... the eyes!! So didn't want to go through that again!!

They only thing under the chin would be to smooth it a bit. It looks like a blurred smudge. I think smoothing it like the rest of the skin would help. It's really not that bad though. For the eye/contour I would add a piece of hair, but that's how I roll lol. The eyes are soo pretty! Keep up the great work

Thank you for your thoughts. I see what you're saying about the chin. And I thought about adding hair over the eyes... but I feel I do that too often... But thank you though I'll deffinitly keep that in mind for next time

Your painting is AMAZING El!! So husssssh!! And you can, you know you can... look at how you've improved!! You simply just need to find the time to keep practicing! I know it's difficult for you given your situation but look at T00xicpanda she travels for hours and hours a day to school where she can't do art while on the bus nor while she's at school. So she does what she can when she's home... perhaps a lil too sleep deprived lol.. but she works hard when she can and she watches peoples livestreams and tutorials and she reads books (on/offline) and she sketches and she paints and she works and works and works... I know I'm at an advantage having much more free time than you.. but if you can only find the time you can improve so much more - and you're better than me so shh you!
