Description In world of Cats there are many remains of high-tech civilization, which have disappeared many centuries ago. Some of their lost technologies have been reused again by cats, but some are still a mystery for them... One of that mysterious monuments is Orbital Elevator. In its neighborhood cats have built city called "Stargate". It's hard to believe there can be a normal life under the shadow of giant elevator cable construction...

For some reason idea of Orbital Elevator (or Space Lift) is very interesting for me. That idea You could see in many Japanese anime and manga series.

This work is my proposal for club contest...

Special thanks for for inspiration, which I've found in his photos of Tokyo Sky Tree tower!

Hey someday we will have one. once we as people figure out there are more important things than killing one another.... important things like space elevators and cracking the science for FTL drives(Which is a misnomer even in Scifi because in no Scifi even does the ship physically thrust at a speed greater than light)

Quite optimistic point of view.

So basically the world of Gundam 00 went to hell and this is the result?

Do You mean this is a vision of hell?

Well, I imagined that orbital elevator is a relic of some ancient high- tech civilization... Also it can be a world in "Eureka Seven" style...

I meant did the world of "00" finally blow themselves off with their Gundams and this was the distant result?

Maybe yes... Mankind has been lost in some mysterious disaster... Another civilization arise in dust of past glory...

I wish we humans had a orbital/space elevator lol

Space elevators and trams in the same drawing! How can I not fave! I find space elevators facinating too. As you say it looks so impossible but there's a good possibility it might happen in the not so distant future.

Very interesting idea... It's odd to see that we still use very old fashioned technology to get up there. There have been talks about using nanotubes attached to satellites for space elevators, but we still seem to be very far from achieving that.

The "Mars" series by Kim Stanley Robinson has orbital elevators, makes so much sense to me!

Fortunately we can imagine this like it could really exist. I like an elevator idea - probably because it looks so impossible to realize.

Nice drawing, I really enjoy your style.
That structure strangely reminds me of the
heavy loading bodies that were built in 1941 in preparation for Hitler's
global capital , and still stand in residential areas and parks today.

Those links were very interesting, but compared with size of orbital lift those concrete bodies are... very small.

Then what about the still existent towering structures known as FlaktΓΌrme ? Your ancient elevator still wins when it comes to size, but still... The Soviets tried blowing them up after the war with dynamite, tank gunfire and even aircraft bombs, but all to no avail!

And yes, I've researched too much World War II/Nazi-German history.
