i heard they changed it to cgi cause they thought 2D might not be so appealing on a global marketing level, also the spots wouldve apparently caused a strobing effect in 2d. There are supposed be some specials drawn in 2D coming up in the next year or so.Β

There's something Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann about this, giving Marinette a very cute edge and Ladybug a very ferocious edge that seems rather fitting in spite of the fact she's wearing a ladybug outfit.
I personally think the 3D style is better, especially with the implementation of Adrien's character
