People keep saying maned wolves are a type of fox, they are NOT. Nor are they wolves. They belong to their own genus. c:

Maned Wolf- Chrysocyon brachyurus, subfamily to Caninae, family of Canidae
They're one of my favorites because they do look like foxes, but they're taller and kinda look a bit like German Shepherds (black muzzle)

They ARE NOT foxes (and not wolves). 
Maned Wolves are unique canines, specially adapted to live in South America fields.

I love maned wolves. Beautiful and delicate-looking creatures. Although I've seen them be quite viscious. I like how his 'mane' or his dorsal stripe looks purple in the picture.
