At first glance, Atlas can come across as a quiet kid who distances himself from the rest of the world. His natural expression always appears to be bored or uninterested. However, he is a deep, progressive thinker with a desire to ask why things are the way they are. A quick learner on the lookout for answers. Atlas likes to use his mind at every opportunity, whether it be spray painting, drawing, or something else. Otherwise he will get bored quickly. As he has grown, Atlas has upheld a sense of independence. He is not afraid to go out of the house on his own and aspires to do things his way without being controlled or looked after.
The young boy is prone to act aloof towards strangers, sometimes insensitive. When he is unfamiliar with who he is interacting with, he has little regard for feelings until he forms an opinion. Strangers who are less than nice to him will cause him to retaliate in sarcastic remarks and aggression. He has a sharp tongue that occasionally gets him in trouble, whether it's speaking his own opinion or calling someone dull. Once he warms up to someone, he is more calm and considerate.
Atlas is loyal to those he cares about and will defend them shamelessly. He likes to cheer up his family and not expect anything in return. He's a great listener and also gives some pretty damn good advice. Though he doesn’t have a lot of friends, the boy will do just about anything for those who want to be by his side. He is less reserved around them and more thoughtful of their feelings.
He can be quite emotional, but doesn’t like to show that side of him willing, especially to those who aren’t part of his “family.” There is a lot of self doubt and pent up aggression in his heart, and he is afraid of lashing out on those he cares about. Although he likes to have some time alone and away from everything, he's truthfully afraid of being left alone. He wants to be appreciated and liked for who he is and what he does. Therefore he tries to give himself big goals for the future, even if it's a little far-fetched. But under his unemotional exterior lies a kind-hearted boy who aspires to be something bigger than he is now.

TL;DR
Atlas was born into a big family of trainers and his Pokemon family. He spent many happy months in Rustboro City until the disappearance of his father and the death of his mother. He and his elder brother then abandoned their home in search of a better life and along the way met two other Pokemon who would later become so close they were considered adopted siblings. After spending so much time in the wilderness, they were introduced to Dittechs. Though they continued to struggle for a while, they now reside in Lumoise city under Apellon.
Warmth. A very pleasant feelings, one that the newborn Poochyena would learn to enjoy and appreciate. He was born in the middle of a warm, cozy living room beside the fireplace, surrounded by a welcoming family. Three Mightyena, a couple and their eldest son, were also ecstatic about the new addition to the family. The pup quickly got used to his surrounded, adoring the love and attention his owners gave. He was spending his days sniffing out items lying around the house and curled up beside his mother. And so, he was given the name, "Atlas" for his sense of smell.
The Poocyena's journey would begin in a friendly neighborhood of Rustboro City. Atlas belonged to the youngest of the four children in the house, a little boy who loved to play and go on adventures. His brother, Cain, belonged to the eldest child and the pair would train together. The mother Pokemon, named Lilly, was considered a family pet and remained inside with the human mother and grandmother, for she was frail and getting old. And lastly, Atlas's father Hunter was in the custody of the human family's father, a veteran trainer who participated in tournaments often. Atlas kept a tight bond with pretty much everyone in the home, including his biological parents. More than anything, Atlas loved the summer, and his first few months in the season were some of the best. He was rarely used for battle, considering his owner was still small, but he seemed to enjoy watching battles. Though their family was huge and barely fit into their suburban house, all that mattered was that their family was together.
It became natural for Atlas to rarely see his father, considering he was on a competitive team that was well-known in the area. The veteran trainer would sometimes leave town for a few days for bigger tournaments. As time went by, word of a gigantic Pokemon tournament in Unova. Without a second thought, Hunter's trainer was packing his things and applying for his entry fee. It would be almost a month before Atlas would see his father again, but a month felt like years. His mother was beginning to grow sick as well, for she rarely moved around the house and ate little. The human family took her to a Pokemon Center, but the doctors could not deduce what the illness was and how to cure it. Lilly was given medicine in efforts to figure out what worked best. There was little change, but she carried on anyway, taking care of little Atlas. When the father of the human family returned, everyone rejoiced. Unfortunately, the welcome was short lived. Another tournament, another goodbye. The Poochyena barely got enough time to spend time with his father, let alone play with him. Hunter hardly interacted with anyone at all, he appeared to distance himself from the rest. No one could really understand why, but off they went again. Breaths of icy wind sneaked their way from the windows into their home, sending chills to everyone that lived there. Nonetheless, there was a single flare of hope that lingered.
Lilly's health began to deteriorate soon afterwards. And like a flame that flickers out too soon, she died in the middle of the night. The morning upon discovery carried a heavy gloom and despair. The family mourned for their loss, promptly giving their beloved Pokemon a proper burial in their backyard. Cain refused to leave the grave for a period of time. Atlas, who was confused at first, stayed by his side. In time, the veteran trainer returned from his travels, but his Mightyena was nowhere around him. With sorrow in his voice, he told his family in that Hunter had run away, and after spending a couple days looking for him, he decided to come home without him. It was difficult for the Poochyena to understand why this should have ever happened, and his attitude quickly changed when he did. Losing both of his parents took a toll especially on Atlas, and it was visible to everyone. He did not want to play anymore, much less go outside. He would bite if he felt too bothered, and refused to eat some day. He could no longer feel the warmth of the house. All there was was a cold, bitter frost. The loss of both of his parents would affect him immensely for many years to come, causing him to grow a closed-off, emotionless state of mind. He would not interact with anyone in the family, with the occasional exception of Cain.
Atlas's trainer began to complain about his Pokemon, due to the fact that he refused to play and sometimes grew hostile. It wasn't until the humans were thinking hard about bringing Atlas to a daycare that Cain took action. He simply wouldn't let the last of his family leave him. And so, Cain abandoned his home with his brother in tow. Atlas did not protest, there was nothing in the house for him except for a lingering feeling of ice. The pair traveled through all kinds of weather as they attempted to find a place for themselves, exploring Hoenn and the regions that surrounded it. Perhaps even find their long-lost father. Because Cain was at a much higher level, he found it fairly easy to get them past wild Pokemon and find food. After being exposed to the outside world, Atlas's spirits began to lift. He ended up taking interest in many peculiar things while exploring, including painting and sculpting. In the middle of their traveling, they came across several other Pokemon with fascinating stories, including a flirtatious Simisear named Olivia and a gracious Sharpedo named Dixon. Both of which were met in the woods of Unova, having escaped their trainers in search for a new beginning. What really caught the Mightyenas' attention was that they, too, had lost their parents and were willing to travel along. The four grew surprisingly very close, almost like a familial bond. Atlas was very skeptical about these new Pokemon, but grew quite fond of them anyway.
Eventually, the group came across Kalos and while on their way, overheard a conversation from a bunch of other Pokemon. They caught word of a strange device called a dittech, and were immediately curious. They listened to everything they could find out, and Atlas was determined to obtain them, for a new beginning for his new family. And off they went. Their group bumped into a friendly-looking Glaceon who turned out to be a Dittech distributor. Because Atlas and his brother spent much of their years around a human family, they found it more easier to get accustomed. It was all a matter of using two legs instead of four. The group resided in the Pokemon Village until it was attacked and were forced to find a new home. The four then moved to Lumoise city while trying to make ends meet. Cain was able to find a job as a mechanic. Dixon and Liv, who couldn't seem to find a decent income, decided to take matters into their own hands and scrape up cash through illegal means, such as theft and gambling. They spent a year struggling until Apellon came along, to which they all joined to steer clear from authorities. Atlas used this to his advantage more than once, usually for his graffiti art. For once, after spending weeks upon weeks of being cold, a tiny light of hope appeared.
Currently, Atlas does his own thing while the rest of his family work together in their up-and-coming band. As they get more recognition, he feels a little more lonely and distant. On his own will, he takes online courses for his education. He can be usually seen in the streets of the city when he's not home, sometimes in public parks. While his interests of graffiti art and drawing consume his free time, Atlas tries to open up to the world around him and perhaps make a few friends.

- Quinn (Buizel)
- Someone he didn't expect to befriend, but he did so quickly. He's grown closer to Quinn since Niji took him in and they both go out sometimes to hang around. He won't admit it, but he admires how upbeat and passionate he is. Is glad to have such a friend.
- Tera (Trubbish)
- One of the few good friends he has. They both share a similar taste in music and Atlas finds himself more at-ease around them. He finds them pretty cool and would pull them into whatever rebellious-teenage-antic he wants to do.
- Ireth (Vulpix)
- Atlas isn't sure if "acquaintance" is the right word for it. While he appreciates her allowing him to join in activities, he's very wary of her. Mostly because he's actually a bit scared she will try to set him on fire... He tries to avoid getting on her bad side. But he finds her not so bad at all, may want to befriend her.
- Niji (Audino)
- Cain's girlfriend, the only thing he sees her as. She's always been very caring and sweet towards him, but he finds it difficult to do the same. Still, he tolerates her and thanks her for her good deeds. Will act as her delivery boy if she needs help in the bakery. Though he's sure his brother will propose one day, he's still not sure about allowing her into his family.

- Cain Ulric (Mightyena)
- Biological older brother. Though Atlas has known him for much longer than the rest, he feels somewhat distant towards him. Ever since the two left their previous home, Cain has been more of a father than an older brother and it's clear that he takes care of him as best as he can. Atlas finds it overbearing and sometimes they bash heads.
- Olivia "Liv" Ulric (Simisear)
- "Adopted" older sister. Since the young woman is the most careless of the family, she doesn't really watch over her little brother, much less act as a good role model. Atlas thinks of her as an annoying grown-up brat, and doesn't hesitate to let her know this. However he cares about her deeply just like everyone else. He finds her amusing at times and laughs at her attempts to be a responsible adult.
- Dixon Ulric (Sharpedo)
- "Adopted" older brother. The two get along fairly well and hardly ever fight, if anything over trivial matters. Atlas prefers him out of the three siblings he has to live with. He thinks his brother is pretty cool, as long as he doesn't try to pry into his business.
- He is a pretty pathetic liar. Though he can conjure up a pretty solid excuse, he doesn't like to lie in general and his hesitation keeps him from doing it well.
- Although he is quite forgiving, the one exception is his biological father. He can't seem to move on from it because of how much he affected him.
- Has a strong interest in graffiti art and spray painting, and has a large collection of paint cans and tools. However, he also enjoys traditional painting and pencil drawings. He's grown to be quite good at it for his age.
- Though he's used to listening to punk rock music, he has grown to love electronic music and some rap.

Nothing but silence rang through the empty school hallways. Almost everyone had gone outside for lunch, whether it was on the courtyard or to the nearest cafe. However, Alois remained within the building along with his very lovely girl friend. His hand was interlocked with hers as they strode down the vacant halls. Only leaving behind the sound of their footsteps.
The boy darted his eyes around them, just to be sure they were the only two people on the floor. And when he was certain, he glanced down at Angel with a toothy grin and dragged her into one of the empty classrooms. He turned his body so that he was completely facing the redhead, clasping her other hand with his. The lights were off, the only source of brightness shone from the row of glass windows. Several long rows of desks were standing neatly in front of a larger teacher’s desk. Some chairs were scattered and a few bags were left behind, as if everyone had just up and left.
