I did this very rushed pic for Tales of #Tales-Of-Fans prompt. Not the best, and I still hate coloring with red markers...Best Tales character ever~ 8D

Oh yeah...I don't think fingers actually bend like that and the hand's too small...so it's a little awkward.

Ug, I don't know if the problems you have with red markers are the same problems I have with red, but I hate coloring in red. I like to use more toned-down colors, but red quickly turns to pink or brown.
I don't think I've mentioned it before, but you have really beautiful inking. It's so clean, and it makes the folds in the cloth look really... dynamic? (I'm not sure if I'm making much sense.

I think the problem with red for me is that I can't really blend well with it like I can with purple, yellow, or brown. I usually use a really pale color for highlights, but pale red is basically...pink. 8D Red is also notoriously bad for magically smudging onto other parts of the pic. It's nothing that can't be fixed though (that's what colorless blenders are for).
Thank you~ Actually inking is what takes me forever to finish a pic, since my first layer of inks is actually quite sloppy. I have to add a second layer to correct all the flaws. 8D It also prevents some bleeding with markers, but that not always.
I think you do great lineart as well! If I wasn't so awful with digital coloring, I'd color that Tear and Johnny pic you did in a heartbeat!

Hard to explain how to do the 'fine point' inking technique. I don't see it used that often from what I can see in other lineart, but I think you're doing a fine job of everything~ Things can be fixed with Photoshop if you're patient enough, to which I'm not. 8D;
Actually, I think I'm might try my hand again at digital since maybe I should get into that. You can laugh at my attempt once I'm done. 8D

Yeah, I always have to do a lot of touching up in photoshop.
Digital art takes a lot of practice, but I think it's worth it.
