My very first tutorial!!! ;-; I hope this will be useful to you guys!! I'd love your feedback as well, it's always appreciated!

ah, this is very helpful and informative.
i've only just started graphite portraits recently and am kind of teaching myself by just going for it and trial and error, haha. this is really great because while there are so many graphite portrait artists here, this is the only tutorial i've found.
thanks for making it! 
i find it interesting that you shade all the shadow parts first and go over everything in layers. i usually just choose a section and do that bit first before moving on to the next bit, so i'd like to give that a go.
oh, and the way you do the hair is AMAZING!

I'm so glad I came across this tutorial! It's going to help this amateur a whole lot ^^ I plan to follow this thoroughly when I have loads of time, but for now there's a drawing I'm working on, so I'll use your tips on skin shading (because I'm not good with that) ... May I link it to you when I'm done?

^^ It's so interesting to see how different artist's styles and processes differ.... I think watching how other artists do their work helps me (and a lot of people) learn their own style a lot

It's true! X) I loved it when my college had a demo night where a good amount of the professors participated by demoing their specialties for us to walk around and watch. It was pretty cool!

I dunno if it would interest you or not, but this dude [link] is one of the artists with the most influence over me. He has tutorials on youtube and I leaned a lot from them
