Ahh~ I'm sure you were all expecting something from me for this guy, right?
Well, to be frank, I did not actually come up with any comic for any moment that Chrom would get revealed for Smash. Which is crazy coming from me, I understand that, but that does not diminish my genuine love for this man.
I am just... So happy inside that he finally made it in, and he appears to have a lot going on for him despite being an Echo Fighter that I seriously cannot wait to get my hands on playing him. It's actually fitting really, as Chrom was conceptually some amalgamate of Marth, Ike, and Sigurd. So his play style being a mix of Marth, Ike, and Roy kind of works in his character to me. Not to mention the parts from each character are like everything I wanted in a single character at once.
It's been over a week now, and I am still trying to process how it's possible that I can finally put drawings of Chrom into the Smash Newcomer folder.
But really, it's all thanks to his good friend Ripley's Believe It Or Not He's in Smash .
Someday I want to draw something with the two of them celebrating, I at least had that much in mind when considering something for Chrom's hypothetical entry.
Just, not now since my mind is everywhere right now, and I have very little time to do things in a proper timely manner.
Anyway, of course I would go over-the-top with Chrom's artwork. Let me live, d'okey!
And now that I've got all two people in my Wish "List" into Smash, I no longer care who enters the game now-- now I'm just worried how well I can draw whoever is next.
But~ That's why this is a Challenge right? So let's get to it!

It was almost a year ago(?) people were poking fun at Chrom for being unplayable, and now everyone is either using him or having trouble fighting him.

Going by your comment in your last Chrom-related comic... this trulyΒ ends up a strong bookend to his unexpectedly crazy, yet multi-dimensional journey. And I mean that, really.
I did a lot of re-exploration of Chrom since his confirmation in SSBU, and have had a lot thought over what to feel on the entirety of his run to this point. Probably took a while to simmer it down, but it came out less wordy and big than I expected.
While I might still feel kind of unforgiving for the nature of ridiculity played back in Sm4sh-days, I can definitely appreciate the entirety of his last journeys as is - not only were many of them unexpectedly pleasant surprises post-SMT X FE, they all play such a build-up to Chrom's very self-owned journey up to this quite satisfying present.
He's got connections in other worlds, new friends to call his own, and conquered his inner demon that he can now utilize as a hidden strength.
I think coming to Smash after that kind of a fact, is really an amazing victory for him throughout these years. I mean, X being Chrom's best friend through and through these years (+ starting friendship with Vesperia-trio), he gets to meet his great-grandpap after while knowing his wife before in more darker times, and now gets to reunite with his beloved tactician and daughter. Realizing all this, I can't express my happiness for him well enough.Β Β ^(~;{};~) ^
And I can't say it enough, through your comics and art it's been very delightful to put it all together, as I it has kind of had me rekindled some lost appreciation to Chrom over the time when I had sort of closed my heart out for him. And gonna say it too, props big time for sticking by him. Look at you~! *noogie-attacks*
Gotta say though, him being revealed along the remix of "Id - Purpose", probably my most beloved theme in Awakening, really seals the deal to me. b(-`vΒ΄-)a And hey, being revealed next to as-dorky-yet handsome lovable lug from Castlevania-series helps a ton too.Β
I still have some way of hoping for some chars in Ultimate, like Dixie Kong and Isaac. Some Lloyd Irving and low-key Cress/Yuri as Echoes if possible too. But from what I got so far, this is really shaping much more engaging experience with more faves and big hitters~Β Especially with handsome duo of Richter and Chrom joining in with Daisy and few veterans I missed from last games!
Here's hoping that we'll see Roy somehow involved in the comic regarding Chrom's arrival to Ultimate - I'm definitely even more appreciative and thankful for Roy's existence and return in SSB4 due allowing Chrom to shine once more through his voluntarily given mold.
Also, I'm betting on a long collective letter of chromgratulations from most of the folk we saw in PxZ2, arranged by Xiaomu herself. Because she'd definitely do it .

It's really funny since I haven't even found any clear idea as to a comic in regards to Chrom's entry to Smash as a Fighter, especially since I've been longing for this redemption for as long as I could recall it. Either way, should a sold idea come into fruition, I'd most definitely try to put something together. ( > ,<);
Even if he never got it, I wanted to still give Chrom some closure in his tough journey in regaining his self-worth.
As painful and occasionally bitter as it was, I really did pour all my love into everything and was so happy when he finally got a happy ending. It really did come from the help of all the friends he met along the way, as well as a surprise spot of support from Our Boy.
And knowing how Chrom is, he's probably endlessly thankful for each and every one of them for getting him here.

I thought a bit over what did he ultimately find within his self-imposed journey overall, but maybe it might not be yet concrete to him - but I think his otherworldly friends and the experiences he had in these many dimensions might allow him to give bigger hindsight.
Something though tells me that in the very end, he's grown to see that the world'(s) bigger and vastly different than a speck he inhabits that he remembers once being a meme. Probably that coupled with how he's acquainted with folk from those worlds, might give him internal kind of calm.

I think that's probably the sort of light I was going for. Sometimes you have to stop and take a look at yourself from another perspective, and realize that there can be more to you and the world itself than what was normally viewed. That alone that be quite insightful, so maybe Chrom will take that to heart.

I don't get all the Chrom hate. "He's another sword fighter" "He's another Fire emblem character" "He looks like Marth" "He would just be a clone" Well you better eat those words, because Chrom joins the battle. Welcome aboard Chrom.

I can understand some folk's frustration, even those in the Fire Emblem fandom are bothered by the whole "swords-only" pool in Smash, especially since we have a large disposal of weaponry in the series alone. But at the same time, a lot of people admitted to really wanting Chrom in Smash, so the love for this guy is strong and true enough to prove his worth as a plausible Fighter.
In any case, every character is going to have fans and non-fans, Chrom is no different here.
I'm just happy he's finally in, and I am surely going to want to main him.

This news is important for me, being a fan of Chromr ever since the launch of awakening.Β
Ever since that horrific reveal trailer 4 years ago, Chrom was turned into an absolute joke. It depressed me so much that I couldn't buy SSB4, Fates, and SoV, I was just too afraid to look into anything FE related.
But now I am surprised Sakurai actually addressed the whole "another day", and made him playable because he is highly requested like Dark Samus, Mewkwota I believe people like you are the reason he's playable.Β

I would have been completely fine with Chrom being deconfirmed in Smash 4, were it not for that sad display they made of him in Robin's Trailer.
I don't mind jokes really, but I thought that one had gone a little too far-- even so much as to have Viridi mock him right in the game.
And oh no, I doubt I had anything to do with Chrom's inclusion, I didn't even vote in the Smash Ballot because I felt guilty for still wanting him in.
Truthfully, Mr. Sakurai had wanted Chrom in at he start, but I guess he had second doubts on his uniqueness.
But I'm happy he reconsidered his decision and gave him the mix of things from other Fighters, it ended up making him look less cloney than what was thought!
I'm just happy the nightmare is over, and Chrom can finally prove himself to everyone in this coming title. Here's to that!

It was so crazy, somehow everyone I wanted (which was literally two people, and the Pyukumuku) was shown at once, I honestly felt spoiled to the very end...!
But now I truly cannot ask Mr. Sakurai for anything anymore, it just wouldn't feel right with what was given in that Direct.
So I'll just see if anyone that my friends and family hope to see will appear before December. Seeing other folks happy is enough to make me happy, too.
And yes! Father and daughter are back together, now LuLu can show Chrom how much stronger she's gotten!

To be quite honest, he was the only newcomer I was genuinely hoping for, so I was extremely grateful to see him show up. I have never been so excited to see someoneβs boot in my entire life. ^^

That was the 2nd boot that got me hyped in a single video, who knew boots would be should a useful message-maker?
In any case, we got our wish and Chrom's in as a very interesting Echo Fighter. I didn't expect the developers would give him aspects from multiple characters, as opposed to just Roy. But that works for me, because I know for certain I'll be maining this guy!
