Golly, better make this quick!!
I randomly decided to join the FSF 2014 Collaboration 1: Fighters United thing this morning, and sadly for me I came rather late to the collab that all the Smashers I normally draw (well, at least) were already taken. The only persons left were just R.O.B. and the Mii Fighters-- each for separate spots.
I still thought it would be neat to join the collab regardless, so I took on the default Swordfighter Mii , whom I nicknamed "Tanner".
The other's I named "Dan" and "Nina", guess where those names came from~ ( ' v')b
Anywho, Tanner, if I may continue to call him that here, was pretty tough only because Mii's generally terrify me with their bizarre style-choice. But whatever the case, I put effort into this and am pretty happy with the overall results. Otherwise, the arm positioning was a bit rough.
And while I don't main Mii's, nor do I really put much thought for them, it's just mere courtesy to give a Smash Fighter a decent awesome-pose, at least when I get the chance and feel.
. . .Now if you'll excuse me, Smash WiiU is done loading... and... I gotta go. My brothers are starting without me. ( o _o);

I've tried sketching a try on the Gunner before, just for kicks, but I don't think I have plans as of now for any pictures involving her though. ( ' ,');

In my case, the reason I am not fond of Mii's art-wise are due to their bizarre style; it's quite shape-ish and specific that my hand has a hard time wondering how to make them look right to me. So, instead of just copying at thing, it seemed better to just derive from the original style and just work it around with your own.
I think most people like to see that kinda thing, otherwise it would just look like another typical drawing of said Mii.

I do agree that it's pretty hard to draw Miis in their own style, since they're essentially supposed to look like they're carved out of wood. I tried doing that with one of my Miis when I decided to make another terrible OC, but the combination of triangular sunglasses and brown hair made me feel like I was ripping off a certain character who likes wearing yellow scarves and whistling.
I like it. I guess you also made him look a little younger and cuter here, too.

I wanted to make something that was more than a simple-standing-pose for the collab, so I tried something fighter-like. I will admit, however, that I am not the most comfortable with either drawing swords-or-swords-poses. Funny since I like swordsmen so much.
But yeah, I did enjoy taking on a variation of a Mii, it helps to tell myself that I can somehow manage other character I'm normally not comfortable with, so long as I am willing and interested in working with 'em~
