Okay-okey~ Before anyone says anything else... Shhh....I wish, please, not to hear anymore about the leak we're all probably aware of now. I know about it, I've seen it, I have eaten it.
But I don't want to be pushed about regarding it, yeah? It's enough stress on me as hearing certain people yell at people who aren't other people.
Now then, Shulk ol'boy. I am one of the many who have never played Xenoblade, but I am in the case of the non-connected predecessors, Xenogears and Xenosaga. And after a while, I still looked up this guy and grew to be okay with him being here-- even if Chrom's blocked out, I can be totally fine with Shulk as well. Plus, for some odd reason, I find myself being more easily open to the new-new faces of the Newcomers-- you know, the ones I didn't know too well prior to Smash 4. And Mega counts since I didn't know that incarnation too well before Smash too.
With that, it was really strange to watch myself grow more-n-more sad to hear Smash stuff come up on my Message Lists as the later newcomers rolled in, something I really try not to have happen. Even so, I did my best to get a hold of some hands I'm comfortable working with once the game's out. So now, Shulk will definitely be one of them-- and I'll ask that we please don't chuck flaming bottles around because my little head said he's okay.
(Your opinions are respected, duh~! So be considerate with me, too?)
I could really speak more bitterly, but that's not my character to do so-- we really need more positive clouds around, so I'll do my best there. *pheeew*
As for this drawing, I'm pretty satisfied and happy how it turned out. Form's good, face fine, hair was tricky but manged to catch it-- and those pre-curious study-sketches did help a lot. I have to say, Shulk here is one of my better Newcomer Challenge drawings in a while, I feel bad that I other ones have issues here-n-there even when I put effort into them.
It really does help if you like what you draw. ( ; v; )
Oh mang~ I really don't feel good making Smash sound so sour, bwehehe... I apologize for my probably negative-tone!
So I'll just end this nicely by saying, I welcome Shulk as I do just about anyone and I look forward to teaming with him.

I often compare Zero to Shulk, both in backstoryΒ and color scheme.Β I mean, both, in some way, had their girlfriend killed, has a sweet best friend, and wield a sword.

He's in? *squeals like the fangirl she is* I checked the site and they made his model here look a lot younger than in his game(it may have been due to the almost-absurd amount of detail in the latter's character models).

Yep, I'm personally impressed with his presentation as it really made me quite interested to try him out when Smash comes out.
And that may be the case, I remembered looking at his official artwork to get references and I kept getting lost in what details I should-or-shouldn't keep. Shading can also make people look more mature.

I am so happy that Shulk is part of the roster in SSBB. Β Xenoblade is pretty underrated in the Xeno series, so people never really know the game as much

Mhm~ It's like the Mother series in regards to overseas countries-- it was generally known in Japan before Ness got into Smash 64, albeit small followers that nobody knew of. So Shulk is in that same boat, and should probably have some people give him and his game a nice try in the future.

As of now I'm trying to stray away from any leak talks since it's really racking at my head. But if you want my opinion of it, I am worrying that it's true-- regardless I'll have to deal with it and don't wanna be pushed to draw things early. I liked her very much in FE: A, but she looked a bit like a Marth-cloneΒ Β I hope she'll get her own moves later on...

I've seen her moves via a Japanese gaming magazine, and I'm sad to say that her moves have the exact same names-n-frames as Marth does. I really don't get why the decided to go the "easy way out" and make her a clone, I found it quite saddening. ( ' ~');

In my opinion, Chrom would've been a better place than his daughter because of his more unique moves, instead of being added in Robins final smash.

And yes indeed, I have! My first Smash game was Melee, introduced to me by my cousins, and I mainly used Jigglypuff when I started. But after a while, I drew to really like the swordsmen (and Kirby on the side, o'course). While having touched on the 64 version before, and playing Brawl-- I usually stuck with swordsguys since their style was quite alright with me.
So to stop my memoir of Smash short, I main Marth and sometimes Pit.
But I don't limit myself to only those guys, for the sake of openness. I'm capable of working alongside many other Smashers if need be.

The swordsmen seem to be very popular in the Smash community. Which makes sense since they seemed to have the most variety.
I remember playing Super smash flash when I was younger. I only used Pikachu since he was the only video game character that I knew. (''hardcore'' Pokemon fan here) I always ran away from other players and spammed Thunder ^^''
I wasn't very good at Smash. Then again it was a fan made game and I was like 8 years old or something.

Ah yes, the first Smash Flash was kinda slippery, if I recalled my first time playing it too.
But despite it being fanmade, it's quite well-done-- the 2nd game has quite the improvements I may say. ( ' v');
