In this AU Splinter - a prehistoric rodent-like mammal - found four lost dinosaur eggs in a hole after an earthquake and decides to watch over them and keep them warm until hopefully their parents would find them, but that never happened, instead the eggs hatched and the four little dinosaurs saw Splinter as their parent so he decided to take them with him to a cave since his burrow was too small and took care of them.

Shredder: spinosaurus
A very well known and feared predator around the area where Splinter and his dinos live. He's got a scar across his right eye. He's managed to take down any challenger and by now hardly any other carnivore dares to even get close to him, partly because he doesn't only feed on herbivores but on other carnivores as well.
