Description
One of the first assignments for my Narrative Image class. The prompt was to write a short memoir and provide three illustrations for it. I chose to write on the theme of unexpected moments of delight, and this is the third of those illustrations - spontaneous, simultaneous silliness with my then-friend, now-fiance Ian, running along the planters of Ann Arbor one winter evening.Related content

Hi melukilan! I have been reading Metanoia and checking out your work for a few years now. As it happens I am from Ann Arbor, though have moved away for school. It is always fun to find that someone you only know of through the internet has a real world connection to you. So I figured now would be a good time to say hi and tell you that I love your work!

It is really cool to find real-world connections on the internet. I'm constantly amazed at just how many people I meet online with a connection to somewhere or someone I know in meatspace- and the reverse as well!

All three of these are just gorgeous. I can't even explain how much I love them.

All three of these illustrations are lovely, but something about this one won't let me look away. The stillness of the scene and then that burst of motion - I can almost hear laughter when I look at it, and I can most certainly feel joy.
