I am so happy this is finished! I have spent so long slaving over this - I think this has been around 10 hours or so in the making, but this is the third attempt at the concept! This is my entry for `TouchedVenus 's Winter Romance Contest .

I really hope I win / place in it! The deadline is tomorrow so I definitely cut it fine!

This is probably the first time anyone has ever seen these characters. They are from a story I am writing, and are the main characters; Evelyn and Luke. Its not a love story but... they do fall in love.. This is after all the events of the story occur - it isnt supposed to be in any particular place but I wanted to draw them when their relationship had really begun to get going in the more peaceful time following the events of the story.

I dont really want to say too much about them cause I'm actually trying to write the story as a book and I'm really shy about my writing, but I guess if you have any questions ask!

I drew this in photoshop, my only digital program. I really enjoyed it and I feel like I captured Evelyn how she is in my head. I'm a bit more dubious with Luke - I think my lack of practice at drawing guys really held me back here. But, I think the interaction works I used a reference for the pose, credited below, which really helped add romance to the concept. I also need practice with backgrounds but I hope it looks ok!

I placed 3rd. I'm in truth a little disappointed, simply because of all the time and effort and drafts and redrafts I put into this picture. Still, placing in 3rd is still better than not placing at all. So hey. Onwards and upwards, right? :/
