If you're wondering why I rarely have "finished" pieces, it's because I find beauty in the loose sketchy paintings. The highly rendered images are nice...but they tend to lack the feeling that it was made by human hands.Related content

this has the most faszinating colors<->lightning interaction i can remember seeing on deviantart. are there tutorials how to make something like this? im a traditional artist that just started digital art ^^

I find a richness of possible interpretations in"loose sketchy" paintinggs. One day they show me one thing the other day it's yet another.

I usually use the hard round set to opacity and flow

I also find beauty in loose paintings. Its like I'm looking into the artists Mind or like I'm trying to remember a dream of theirs.

I love the simple but efficient texturing in the exhaust and rocket bursts.

They can be finished without being rendered! Speedpaintings are awesome - I like 10 speed paints for every oversized high def I've ever seen.

Fantastic. And I agree with your assessment about the sketchy first draft, if you will; there seems to be greater energy and immediacy in the looser first attempt than there is after we try to polish it up.

I agree with you there. There's always such a nice raw, loose feel to sketchy styled pictures. I tend to prefer them more.
