Description Waratah and citrus swallowtail. Painted on request by a friend I think it might need some adjustment, the flower placement looks a bit off, ya think?

This is very well done. the detail that you put into the petals, leaves, and butterfly wings is astonishing and gives it the sense of realism but still keeps the lovely look of digital art.

It is great, IMO the flowers are placed OK, nto regularly, but that is how it is in nature.

Brilliant! As has been said, it does seem a little too perfect, i dont think i've ever seen a plant that hasnt been eaten/broken even a little.

Thanks Darron, I think I'll go back and rough up the edges of the leaves a bit

Hi Sandi Thanks for your comment! I thought they might need a nudge to the right, but I think I'll leave them as is (and work a bit more on the edges of the leaves).

Hope you're all ok!

I don't think you want it perfectly centered. Yes, it is off to one side slightly.

ooo, I love it, so bright and vibrant! Very lovely colouring, that butterfly is just wonderful!

The only thing I'd say about it, is that it seems slightly too perfect... Like the flowers, they dont have any signs of them wilting ever so slightly, which would make them far more natural... I know flowers don't always look like they're wilting, but they often have some kind of blemish, leaves do too, so like, some little holes in the leaves would help, too. As if a capterpillar had eaten them. I do love it though, just my thoughts!

Thanks Tasha, I think I might go back and give the edges of the leaves a bit of that sun burnt look to fix that up (I know what you , mean, too perfect and it lacks character!) Funny about these flowers, all the ref I've found of them (and my memory of them in real life) is that they have almost no insect problems. I think they're too tough for the little buggies to chew! They're quite leathery plants.

Thanks! Good crit

I think it looks quite grand! As usual, the textures that you use in the flowers are simply fantastic- they look quite soft and I can almost smell them Very pretty flower, too, interesting looking... Sort of reminds me of a behive or something, no? Quite busy! I like how the nice butterly is just flying around there, and I adore the way you painted the textures in the wings and how you added the bright colour without making it look unnartural, same thing with the antennie (they look very nice and natural), although slightly uneven... Though it may actually be like that, perhaps if they were around the same length it would be more appealing? I'm not too sure. The leaves, too, are very nicely painted! I like they way you made some of then slightly hdden underneath the flower, it looks very pretty.

Other crits, I can't say much. I'm not 100%, but maybe a little texture in the background would help?

I love the way you paint... simply beautiful stuff

Thanks for your comments Yeah, the antenna are a bit offset, I wanted them to look like from a side view, but don't really have a proper reference, so they might be a bit off in proportion!

Funny about the background, the textures I used don't show in this (it's about 1/4 full size) I might have a look at the full version and increase the textures, I want them to show. This is meant to be printed as a placemat

Thanks for your critique, that was quite helpful

I think a close up of the butterfly and some of the background is in order!

No problem! You're the only person I feel same crit'in... I know you're not going to bite me
