Why? Why is Aki one of the hardest Dinosaur King characters for me to draw? She just doesn't look like herself.
Aki is one of the guardians, specifically, she's Cole's (her oldest OC son) guardian. She isn't the type that would go straight towards the danger which being a guardian sort of requires. Spike easily notices her inner conflict and offers her to be Cole's guardian instead; she refuses.
Despite her fear, if needed she is able to use the sound crystal stored her necklace for defense.
She is very close to Cole and became his guardian after her father gave her the crystal 17 years ago.

the way it is if your art style doesn't closely match the show they aren't going to look right so trust me you are great aki looks great you just can't recreate the anime's art style with it's ok because trust me I wish I was as good as you at drawing my friend.

But there’s just something about her that makes be struggle with drawing her. All the other characters are greatly captured in my style, but that does not apply to her. I don’t know why I think that.

Not really. I adore all the parents the same (okay, maybe I adore Cretacia a little bit more than the others, but that’s for another day) and I’ve never seemed to have this problem with Rex, Reese or Amy before, only with Bel who isn’t my OC.

well Aki is honestly one of the most flushed out characters as she acts like a mom, and her past of collage her and spieks first date and raising a baby max were plot important.
so I honestly all that character makes Aki a bit intimidating to work with in fan art and that could be part of it

Definitely. She was the hardest character to write in OoTaS Next Episode as a guardian without a development, which I’ve tried to change and make as good as possible in R!OoTaS.
