Description 5h+ in Blender

This time, I submit a 3D work. I created it for a 3D creation contest on Blender Guru (great tutorial website to learn about Blender). The theme is "Video Games", so I chose to make a tribute to Journey!
Journey is property of Thatgamecompany.
I don't know if I will be able to submit a making of this time, I didn't really thought about it during the creation process...

This is beautiful. Great job. Very true to the aesthetic of the game while adding just enough texture and detail to make it distinct. I'm considering having this framed and hung on my wall.

Sure, but I have to find the original file in my mess It's been a while... But you have to know the 3D model is not a complete one; I only modeled the back of the character (so no face texture), and as this is static image, all the clothes deformation may have been done in the original mesh itself. So if you plan to use it for a video game for example, I think it won't be what you're looking for.
Anyways, I try to find that and share it. In a new post maybe? This makes me think, maybe I should share source files more often... Oh, and if you plan to use this model, a little backlink to my page would be appreciated if you can I'll keep in touch.

Thanks a lot But I have to say that "Journey" is originally a wonderful video game. Here I tryied to mimic its style, so I didn't come up with the concept, I only studied it. Anyways, thanks for stopping by

blender render? cycles? looks good overall tho the colors and the position of the mountain kinda disturbs me. Also u have 2 currents of wind in the composition; visually, it doesnt bothers me but if i try to think about its like...what the hell.


I like the sand. The image overall could have used lots of photoshop for making debris, dust etc

I used the blender internal engine (the old one ). I'm not really at ease with cycles at the moment, I have to learn it!
Regarding the wind, I actually noticed it and I wondered if I should keep it like that or not. The direction of scarves serves well the composition, but makes no physical sense at all... But actually, I got those from reference images! This seems a bit weird...
For debris, you're right! There are tons of these in Journey. But I was a bit lazy to create them :S

I had this exact problem when looking at one of my sketches that I took down from a refrance, the wind makes no sense XD
