Wow!! Did you learn how to make a ball jointed doll or just learning on your own with collecting info and books?
I really want to try to make one myself

I learnt it through Internet! I don't even have a doll of my own and when I begun the project I had never seen a real doll in my life. Sadly, there are no courses in BJD making! You just have to try on your own ^^

If you're planning on making your own doll, you could go check out my blog.

I have a guide there how to get started. If you have any questions regarding I will do my best to answer.

Making a doll is a really fun project but you won't be finished in a week. It takes time. But if you have patience I truly recommend it!

That is awesome! I was trying to figure out what medium would be strong enough to be strung tightly... I figured polymer clay would be too breakable.

Wow let's see now... I have made an almost finished doll using super sculpey living doll polymer clay, but I found it too hard to work with after baking so I decided to try paper clay again.

If you haven't already I suggest you to check out [link] which gives you a small guide where to start making a doll. The guide says that you should always try good high quality paper clay, it is really a big difference.

DAZ paper clay is really strong, and I think laDoll paper clay is strong as well, but I have also tried low quality paper and it breaks easily, is hard to sand and looks awful.

Also, if you are concerned with your doll breaking you might want to cast it in resin. If you have more questions just ask

(excuse my cutting into your conversation OTL) This video was SOOO helpful. I've been wanting to learn how to make dolls for such a long time; my biggest inspiration being Marina Bychkova. I now really want to do this! Once I get a job (I won't be able to before then) I will!!! Thank you for this video!

Lovely! I'll make a new one as soon as possible, one where I show how to sculpt. If you have any questions what so ever, feel free to ask me. I agree, even though I'm more for the classical BJDs, Marina Bychkova makes beautiful dolls.
