This is the first part of a project I'm working on, where I'm going to be redrawing just about EVERY SINGLE SPRITE IN POKEMON RED, BLUE, AND YELLOW. A pretty big task, but I'm up for the challenge.

I took a lot of inspiration from Firered and Leafgreen when working on the ratios and proportions, as well as some of the designs aspects (Like Red's hat), but I made sure to still stick to the originals as much as possible.
You'll notice that there are two sets for the rival/Gary. There's a slight variation between the hair, and I couldn't decide which I liked better, so I did both. Let me know in the comments which one you like better!

Who knows, if there's a skilled enough ROM hacker out there who wants to do this, maybe one day this could become a full fledged game, hmmm?
