This has always been one of my favorite images from the Miki Falls series. It's the opening page of the third book, Autumn, and in many ways it was my attempt to convey not only the breathtakingly gorgeous scenery that one finds in Japan, but also the profound emotional reaction that one feels when coming upon such beauty (or that *I* feel, anyway!).I owe much to Photoshop with this piece, not least because it allowed me to put all the leaves on a separate layer and nudge them this way and that until I found what I hoped would be just the right mix of randomness and idealized balance.

this one is also one of my favorites ! once again the colors are soothing and put you in this melancholy state. the leaves are wonderfully placed (also helps in setting the melancholy mood) the lighting and position of the camera..all well put together.
the picture feels verry real. you know? it captures a verry realistic beauty. something i can walk outside and see everyday but take for granted.
also i LOVE the detail on the steps and hand rail. Thank you for such a wonderful picture.

I love this image.. I've seen it in your youtube vid. It always reminds me how different proportions are with Manga characters than it is in real life drawing. It still somehow works tho

sense of time suspended in a hyperreal moment. i think you succesfully conveyed your sentiments. i would have seen something aside sepia tones but if a strong memory is what you are conveying, then a faded palette is probably the most appropriate thing after all. i love her smallness in the whole scene, and her shy posture in the doorway.
