Every time I see this OC come up I just die! They are so lovely! I love those long skinny legs. I love canines and hoofstock so this is like a lovely mix of both worlds!

I love how the brightly coloured tail contrasts with the grey, black and white head and body.

No problem at all - and thank you for taking it so well and being mature about it! I see so many situations where someone offers constructive criticism, but the person takes it as a personal insult and doesn't handle it well - so thanks for being good about it. ^^
Ah, I guess style is a part of it - though I would also say that if you're going for the tall and graceful appearance, even the tallest and most light-framed and elegant of dogs still do not have these proportions in their hind legs - it's not so much about the overall length of leg, but rather the ratio of the sections of the leg to one another. Though I guess if that's your personal style then draw the way you want - the only thing I would be repeating however is the appearance of the extra joint - the other thing is within the realms of stylisation, but adding an extra joint is "breaking" the anatomy as such for a canid - fine if he's not actually a canid, but since you're stating him as a husky/wolf mix, then he's fully canine - in which case I'm really sorry if this comes off as harsh, but the extra joint above his paw is... wrong. Sorry to repeat that again - but whenever I see this drawn in canines, I see four displaced and angulated fractures of the metatarsals - i.e. eight broken bones is kinda what it looks like...
(sorry, I'm a bit of a bionerd and anatomy-idiot... again it's up to you of course, the leg length thing I guess can be filed under personal style, but the "extra joint" is kinda... fine and correct for species which actually have a joint here, but in dogs... eight broken bones.)
Really sorry if that came off as harsh - as I've already said, I think he's got a cool design and I love how you've drawn his face (like, really love), and his markings and pose are great - his legs (esp. hind legs) just have some fairly significant anatomical issues considering that he is a fully canine character.
I'm glad you think my previous criticism was fair - I hope that you think the same here as well, though I'd certainly forgive you if you didn't. But I'm only sharing this intending to help you draw canines more accurately with more correct and canid-specific anatomy. And of course I like the rest of the drawing, you did a really nice job!

Aww, thankyou!
And yeah - I've seen that happen a lot - tbh, copying anatomy from a favourite artist can be one of the WORST things you could ever do for your anatomy skills.
I think a lot of people trust popular or favourite artists to be right - but in truth, imitating that may just be imitating their own mistakes - I think it's better for people to work on their own styles and their own way of drawing anatomy, that way they develop their own uniqueness whilst having a much better understanding of how the underlying structure itself works.
It's a shame no one pointed it out to them though, since to me it's glaringly obvious as being downright wrong - again, fine if the species you're drawing has this feature, but for dogs or cats or other species which are standard digitigrades and don't have any hybrid/fantasy/sci-fi ancestry, it's just wrong.
It's like drawing people but having them all with a broken arm... if someone started drawing all humans with an extra joint in the middle of their forearm, they'd get called out on it - yet I notice a lot of people adding joints to canines and felines - when it's every bit as incorrect! Yet so few people comment on it (you may have stumbled upon a pet peeve of mine) and so many popular artists do it - but for me it's kinda painful to look at what basically appears to be characters walking around on eight or more displaced and angulated fractures.
A bit like how all JP raptors and dromaeosaurids inspired by JP raptors all have terrible broken (pronated) wrists...
I don't blame you though - as you say, you started adding it after an artist you admire did it... and it's easy to fall into that trap, since sometimes other artists can indeed teach us a lot in terms of techniques and such - but it seems when it comes to anatomy, it's best to do your own style rather than try to learn from others. dA is littered with broken wolves, and sometimes their brokenness is more obvious than others.
You're very welcome of course, very glad it could be helpful - and I look forward to seeing you develop your own great art style! ^^

Well, I think any of us are still exploring our own style - but then there are of course many different ways to do that. ^^
And yeah, I think since some people say certain things are "just their style", then for viewers it's sometimes hard to know if a feature in someone's art is "just a cool stylistic flair" or "something actually broken". It's not always easy to tell which is which, so it's very easy to fall into those sorts of traps - hence why I think it's better to admire other's art and take inspiration from it, but not try to imitate something without researching it first.
And I'm glad to hear that - which means other people following them won't be likely to pick that mistake up too. And yeah, we all make mistakes along the way - sometimes it just takes a while to pick up on them and fix them. I'm still feckin' awful at lighting but even so I can at least look back at older works and know I wouldn't make those same mistakes again now.
With anatomy though I'm kinda nerdy, though I will give stylisation a pass (indeed I often think when done right it can look awesome and very unique and characterful, and enhance the personalities of characters) - but certain things just stick out a bit to me as being beyond that boundary of personal style.
And don't feel bad - I'm certain you weren't the only one, as this is a mistake I see A LOT on dA - I personally want to find the first person who started shattering canine metatarsals in the name of "style" and give them a piece of my mind for starting that damned trend... XD
And no problem, you're very welcome! ^^

Is it just me or is the wolf-husky mix/hybrid the most common mix/hybrid in wolfdog OCs? (Not complaining or anything as my OC, Os, is also part husky.)
The colorful tail brings nice contrast with the rest of the design and has a good in-universe explanation, so props for that (to be honest, bit tired of seeing a ton of wolf OCs that have dyed fur for no other reason than "it looks cool" or to make them stand out).
Also, now I'm even more interested to hear more about Equilibrium! (Am I correct guessing there are elements of creation vs necessary destruction?)

Good reasons.
Twelve (or thirteen can't remember) year old me made Os part husky just because it was cool. But later I was able to make it somewhat important plot point in his story, so I think I'm in the clear water.
(Let me clarify. My guess is that in the story it's the "cute little" creatures (like Romano) versus the Canid Balancers, but neither side is shown as evil. So the usually "bad" side aka the killers is more neutral and has a necessary part, like in nature.)

90%? Yes!
Now I'm even more excited. You can do so many fun things when exploring the natural balance. And from what you have revealed so far, Equilibrium seems to be very interesting.
(So don't you ever feel that nobody would like to see it completed.)

I like the idea of a vain creature that finds a passion for helping others!
I also like that his dark colors and how they contrast with his tail.

That makes sense but I can imagine that he still has to be brave to defend them because other canines could still hurt him. Or would he just run away if the threat was too great?
I do. X3

The world definitely needs more positive people like you! Everyone is just sooo serious and negative these days ;x; Negativity and seriousness don't make anything better for me XP The universe is still the way it is no matter what we insignificant humans do or think, so why not try to have fun while we're still living and going ;w; (instead of complaining/being depressed of how "unfair"/"cruel" the world is) Complaints don't solve anything anyway XDDD
