I think it was the blue color, plus the thick neck fur that looks similar to a lion's mane that made me think about the movie.

Yeah, I'm fully aware that Kiku looks like a lion while being earless and having fluffy neck fur XD But hey! At least he's neither a ghost nor he's standing in the clouds, and I don't remember Mufasa looking this blue in that scene from the movie XD

Wow, I really love the oversaturated colour palette and dramatic look to this piece - the proportions are very distorted and asymmetrical but I think that works with the surreal look of this piece - very nice!
